MegaMan_PR_HorizontalMega Man Series to Land on Cartoon Network

DHX Media has signed a deal with Cartoon Network U.S. for Mega Man, an original DHX Media co-production with Dentsu Entertainment. DHX Media’s Family CHRGD also picked up the series for Canada. Based on the legendary Capcom Mega Man video game franchise, the 3-D animated series goes into production this summer. Man of Action Entertainment (Ben 10, Generator Rex, and the creators of the characters and team featured in Big Hero 6) will write and executive produce the series in collaboration with DHX Media and Dentsu Entertainment.
DHX Media manages distribution and licensing rights worldwide, excluding Asia, for the new Mega Man series. Dentsu Entertainment manages distribution and licensing in Asia.

Her Universe Rolls Out DC Activewear

Her Universe has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, to launch its first DC activewear collection. The Her Universe collection, inspired by DC Super Heroes’ Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman, is now available exclusively in Kohl’s stores nationwide and on Kohls.com.
The line includes sports bras, tank tops, tees, jackets, shorts, and leggings available in juniors and plus sizes. Prices range from $24 to $55. The Wonder Woman collection, currently available online, will roll into stores May 1 in celebration of the upcoming Wonder Woman movie, which opens in theaters June 2.

First-Ever Ranger Rick Reading Program Launches

The National Wildlife Federation has teamed with a leading publisher of supplementary educational materials, Teacher Created Resources, to deliver the first-ever Ranger Rick reading, writing, and science program to educators, schools, and districts across the U.S. Through the engaging world of wildlife ambassador Ranger Rick raccoon and his friends, teachers and students can utilize both content and photography from Ranger Rick magazine to enhance teaching and learning across reading, writing, and science for students in grades 2–5. Adventures is now available to classrooms nationwide, created in accordance with national reading, writing, and science standards. It is available in three kits (levels A, B, C) that correspond to grade bands 2–3, 3–4, and 4–5, respectively.

Striker Named LAIKA Licensing Agent

LAIKA, an award-winning animation studio, has tapped Striker Entertainment to serve as its worldwide licensing agent.
Founded in Portland, Ore., in 2005, LAIKA’s mission has been to blend art, craft, science, and technology to tell new, original, and innovative stories. This has resulted in four Oscar-nominated features to date, including Kubo and the Two Strings (2016), The Boxtrolls (2014), ParaNorman (2012), and Coraline (2009).
“As LAIKA looks to broaden its licensing program, we will be working in conjunction with Striker to develop a global licensing program with best-in-class licensees to ensure the highest level of quality and authenticity for our ground-breaking catalog of films,” says Brad Wald, LAIKA’s CFO and head of business operations. “We are thrilled to be embarking into the world of consumer products as LAIKA’s rich, vibrant and colorful themes and characters are perfectly suited for multi-category products including toys, collectibles, apparel, accessories, novelties, paper goods, publishing and seasonal items, as well as digital and interactive games.”
