Jakks Pacific, Chicco Sign Doll Deal

Jakks Pacific signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Chicco.

Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, Jakks will have the rights to exclusively manufacture, market, and distribute early childhood dolls, doll carriers, doll outfits, and doll accessories inspired by Chicco for the U.S. and Canada. The deal took effect July 1, 2017.

“Chicco is an iconic brand and is synonymous with excellence,” says Jill Nordquist, senior vice-president, Jakks Pacific. “As one of the leaders of play, Jakks is excited to infuse the Chicco essence into a new line of baby doll accessories to enhance nurturing play for toddlers.”

DHX Media Extends Character Options’ Teletubbies Deal

DHX Brands, the brand management and consumer products arm of DHX Media, extended Character Options’ master toy license for Teletubbies for another three years.

The deal, which runs until 2020, is for worldwide manufacturing rights with UK distribution and will see Character Options add more plush and plastic toys to the range. New lines will be inspired by new content from season two, which launched earlier this year, such as the Tubby Car. In addition, further Tiddlytubbies toys are being developed following their initial launch this month.

Kids Preferred Named The Rainbow Fish Toy Partner

Kids Preferred was named a new licensee for The Rainbow Fish. The company will produce themed bath books and bath toys based on the children’s book series and its undersea characters.

The deal was brokered by The Rainbow Fish’s licensing agent, RJM Licensing. Published in 1992, The Rainbow Fish book series has sold more than 30 million copies, and celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The Rainbow Fish series was the first book to use holographic foil, which makes Rainbow Fish shimmer and mirrors his movement.

Outright Games To Produce New Cartoon Network Video Games

Worldwide video game publisher, Outright Games, will create new games for console and PC based on Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time and Ben 10.

Outright Games’ new titles will take characters from Adventure Time and Ben 10 to create new experiences for fans and gamers alike. Adventure Time will feature the Land of Ooo submerged into watery chaos, where exploration, battle and even interrogation will be key skills to unplugging the mystery. Based on the new TV series of the franchise, Ben 10 will introduce a fresh adventure in the universe where some of Ben’s most infamous enemies await. Players must discover and unlock 10 alien transformations to aid Ben in saving the galaxy.

Ben 10 will release in Q4 of 2017, with Adventure Time planned for release in early 2018.
