DHX Media, YouTube Red Team for New Series

DHX Media and YouTube have teamed up to release We Are Savvy, a magazine-style series featuring segments about music, fashion, dance and DIY on YouTube Red. Each half-hour episode is introduced by Annie LeBlanc of the Bratayley YouTube channel, alongside segment hosts Spencer, Tehya and Sarah who will explore a broad range of topics ranging from handy DIYs and life hacks, to inspiring peer profiles and celebrity interviews including, singer Alessia Cara, Nashville stars Lennon and Maisy, super model Coco Rocha, and more.

We Are Savvy is set to premiere on YouTube Red this fall. It is produced by B-Minor Productions, a division of Banger Films, and is distributed globally by DHX Media.

Season one of the series (20 x 22’) was originally commissioned by Family Channel Canada and licensed to YouTube Red, which will now include an intro by YouTuber Annie LeBlanc at the start of each episode. Brand new episodes of season two (13 x 22’) are currently in production.

Jakks, Saban Extend Power Ranger Deal

Jakks Pacific has extended its licensing agreement with Saban Brands for Power Rangers, which includes the Power Rangers TV series, currently in its 24th season with “Power Rangers Ninja Steel” and the Power Rangers Live Action films, including 2017’s feature film “Saban’s Power Rangers.

The multi-year agreement includes rights to exclusively manufacture, market, and distribute adult and kids Halloween costumes, accessories, and everyday dress up in the U.S., Canada and Latin America. The partnership also includes seasonal items such as ride-ons, ball pits, indoor furniture, and other seasonal categories in the U.S. and Canada.
