WBCP Hires Int’l SVP, Promotes Global Toys Exec

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has named John Louie as senior vice-president, international for Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP). Louie joined the team on February 27 and reports directly to Pam Lifford, president, WBCP. The company also upped Julian Montoya to senior vice-president of global toys.

Louie will be responsible for the strategic development and overall management of Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and Canada across all categories of business, including top line revenue and P&L. As senior vice-president of international, Louie will implement and execute global and regional strategies, working with global and regional leaders across various departments to drive revenue growth and benefit long-term brand building.

Louie joins WBCP from Mattel where he held positions both domestically and internationally. During his tenure, Louie served as vice-president and general manager of Mattel Australia/New Zealand, leading the commercial subsidiary through a turnaround to record financial and operating performance. He most recently held the role of vice-president, strategic development/M&A based in El Segundo, Calif., helping lead the strategy and execution plan for data analytics and mobile apps and gaming. With more than 20 years of experience, Louie’s previous positions include roles at The Walt Disney Company, Bain and Company, Goldman Sachs and Company, and McKinsey and Company.

In his new role, Montoya will develop and direct global sales and licensing strategies that aid in long-term revenue growth and build key brands such as DC, J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, Looney Tunes, and Hanna-Barbera.

Previously, Montoya served as vice-president of global toys for WBCP and was responsible for maximizing revenue, retail presence, and market share for the company’s portfolio. Montoya joined the company in 2000 as director of business development, Latin America. Prior, Montoya held various leadership positions with Lucas Licensing, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment International, and Warner Home Video.

Nolan Tapped to Head Bulls-i-Toy

Excell Marketing, a marketing, category management, merchandising services and distribution company, appointed Tim Nolan as president of its Bulls-i-Toy division.

Nolan most recently served as president of Imperial Toy. Prior, Nolan provided strategic and creative direction to Imperial as the leader of its sales and marketing teams. Previously, Nolan held several buying and analytical roles in the corporate merchandising divisions of Target and Walgreens.

Nolan brings a wealth of knowledge regarding the licensed collectibles category and will look to expand product offerings, licensor partners, and retail outlets for Bulls-i-Toy.

Excell Marketing recently acquired Portland based novelty candy maker Radz, and is looking to expand their footprint in the licensed novelty candy world.
