American Greetings Properties and licensing agent CPLG announced that they have appointed Character Licensing and Marketing (CLM) to represent licensing and merchandising rights for Strawberry Shortcake in South Africa. CLM has since secured a deal with Wimpy Restaurants for a Strawberry Shortcake QSR promotion in South Africa. All 450 Wimpy Restaurants in the region are participating in the promotion, including locations in South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Zambia. Throughout the month of December, consumers received an inflatable ball, guitar, microphone, air mattress or surfboard with each Food 4 Kids Meal purchase. During January, the premiums include back-to-school products such as a pencil case, a tin of crayons, a stationery set, a sketch pad with stickers, or a lunch box.
