TTPM’s Best of Baby 2016

Information and Call for Entries

In June 2016, TTPM will present its first Best of Baby Awards in 12 key categories. The awards will be selected by a jury of TTPM Editors and experts in baby products and design.

Eligibility

The awards will cover products introduced at retail between April 2015 and April 2016. Redesigned and updated products from previous seasons will be eligible as well.

Promotion

TTPM will promote the winners via:

• PR program targeting relevant online, broadcast and print media
• Feature placement on TTPM
• Promotion through all TTPM Social Media programs

Awards and Criteria

The awards are designed to encompass the breadth and diversity of the Baby products market in terms of product offerings and consumer demographics.

Following is a category-by-category review of eligibility:

Strollers

• Top strollers will be selected from entries in each of three categories designated by retail price range:
  • Budget Friendly—up to $200
  • Mid-Range—$200-$500
  • Luxury—$500+

• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Performance—steering, handles, etc.
  • Ease of folding/unfolding
  • Versatility for travel/transport
  • Accessories, where applicable

Car Seats

• Top car seats will be selected from entries in each of three categories designated by retail price range:
  • Budget Friendly—up to $200
  • Mid-Range—$200-$500
  • Luxury—$500+

• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Performance—steering, handles, etc.
  • Ease of attaching/detaching in car
  • Versatility for travel/transport

Playard/Pack-n-Play

• Two top Playards/Pack-n-Plays strollers will be selected from entries, in the “permanent” and “portable” categories:
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Ease of folding/unfolding
  • Versatility for travel/transport (for travel) or versatility for multiple uses (for permanent)
  • Accessories, where applicable

Diaper Bags

• Two top Diaper Bags will be selected from entries in two categories designated by retail price range.
  • Up to $75
  • $75 and above

• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Ease of “on-the-go” use.
  • Versatility for travel/transport
  • Ability to organize various different necessities.

Bouncers

• Three bouncers will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Variety and engagement level of toys
  • Ease of use for parents.
  • Added value—removable toys, grow-with-me feature, etc.

Swings

• Three swings will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Variety and engagement level of toys
  • Stability
  • Ease of installing, de-installing and/or movement
  • Added value—removable toys, grow-with-me feature, music, etc.

Bottles

• Three bottles will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design, including reducing air going into baby’s tummy, comfort for holding for both parent and baby, nipple design, etc.
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Ease of use
  • Ease of cleaning

Baby Carriers

• Three baby carriers will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Comfort for baby
  • Comfort for parents
  • Ease of use for parents

Baby Feeding

• Three Baby Feeding items will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Ease of use for parents.
  • Ease of cleaning
  • Innovation/problem solving

Activity Gyms

• Three Activity Gyms will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Variety and engagement level of toys
  • Ease of use for parents.
  • Added value—removable toys, grow-with-me feature, etc.

Monitors

• Three monitors will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall performance
  • Quality of reception
  • Sensitivity dependability
  • Ease of use for parents—works with smartphone, on home WiFi, etc.

Bath Toys

• Three Bath Toys will be selected from entries and awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
• Criteria will include:
  • Overall design
  • Quality/perceived durability of materials
  • Variety and engagement level of toys
  • Ease of use for parents
  • Application for the tub
  • Novelty and Innovation
