Luner Promoted at FremantleMedia

David LunerFremantleMedia North America (FMNA) has promoted David Luner to the newly created position of executive vice-president, brand partnerships and franchise management. The appointment was announced today by Thom Beers, CEO, FremantleMedia North America to whom Luner now reports. In his role, Luner will oversee all of FMNA’s ancillary businesses including digital, integrated marketing and brand partnerships, licensing, live events, and various elements of business development.

Over the past decade, Luner has held a number of positions within FremantleMedia, including his most recent role as executive vice-president, digital and licensing for the former FremantleMedia Enterprises Group.

Bendon Acquires Dalmatian Press

Bendon, Inc., announced the acquisition of Dalmatian Press, LLC from its parent company Anderson Press, Inc. The acquisition of Dalmatian by Bendon, which is owned by the Wicks Group and management, creates one of the largest producers of children’s educational coloring and activity products in the United States. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Darice Acquires LockerLookz

Darice, Inc., has acquired LockerLookz, a company that creates locker decorations, for an undisclosed sum. LockerLookz helps teens and tweens express themselves with fashionable but temporary locker decorations. Darice is a craft wholesale distributor that will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2014.

LockerLookz was founded three years ago by JoAnn Brewer and Christi Sterling. They wanted to help their teenage daughters with locker decoration. The mix‐and‐match locker decorations available from LockerLookz include chandeliers, bins, mirrors, shag rugs, message boards, and wallpaper.

LEGO to Create Simpsons Line

“Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products is confirming that there will be a Simpsons LEGO product line in 2014,” according to a statement issued by a Fox spokesperson this week.
