Brilliant PR Promotes Clark Nesselrodt to EVP

Clark Nesselrodt Brilliant PR

Brilliant PR & Marketing, a preeminent agency serving brands and products marketed to parents, kids and families has promoted Clark Nesselrodt to the role of Executive Vice President. The promotion comes on the heels of Nesselrodt helping lead the agency through a year of unprecedented growth during which the Brilliant team generated 23 billion media and influencer impressions, more than 8,500 individual placements and nearly 500 broadcast segments, including more than 50 on national TV. As the agency’s roster expanded to more than 40 concurrent retainer clients, Nesselrodt helped lead Brillant’s ongoing development of integrated marketing services with an emphasis on social and digital media, SEO, creative and branding.

Alongside this promotion, Brilliant is actively recruiting for a Senior Vice President to expand its leadership team and facilitate growth alongside president, Kathleen Tomes and Vice President, Julie Stern. Erin Jundef, who previously helped lead the nutrition practice in her 14 years at Ketchum where she also served brands including Barbie, Hot Wheels and Baby Einstein joined Brilliant as Senior Account Manager earlier this year.

“When COVID hit and we initially saw clients scaling back marketing programs, we assumed that 2020 would be a flat or down year. But instead, it has been our single greatest year of growth. This is attributable to the work and dedication of every single person at our company, and in particular to our operations team and the leadership of Clark Nesselrodt,” said Kathleen Tomes, president and founder of Brilliant PR & Marketing. “Our clients often speak about the ‘magic’ that Clark brings to their strategic conversations and planning. I am very grateful that this promotion and the expansion of our senior leadership team will enable him to focus even more time on growing Brilliant while continuing to provide greater services to our clients.”

Since joining Brilliant in May 2017, Nesselrodt has helped lead clients to back-to-back TOTY wins, navigate marquee celebrity partnerships, generate 100s of millions of YouTube views and billions of media impressions. Defining his work for the agency’s clients is a focus on uniting these efforts under strategies that help build brands with an emphasis on developing narrative and increasing brand clarity.  Over the last 18 months, he has led the effort to expand the agency’s social media practice and fully integrate digital advertising and SEO services in addition to his work to bring efficiency and scaled growth to the agency’s business.

“I am proud to have helped lead Brilliant’s growth over the last three years and to have helped our clients expand their marketing programs,” said Nesselrodt. “I asked Brilliant and our clients to take a leap of faith on a more expansive vision, and it is wonderful to see the fruits of this work.”

Clark Nesselrodt began his career seventeen years ago in New York City with Madison Avenue agency, Hunter, where he supported out of the box integrated marketing programs for iconic brands like JELL-O. It was there that he got his first exposure to the toy industry, helping launch multiple products for Hasbro. He opened his own agency, Caged Bull PR, when he was only 23, which later merged into the consumer products division he oversaw at leading hospitality agency, Bullfrog & Baum. As Vice President at MSLGroup, he helped lead Kellogg’s to its first retail activation with Pop-Tarts World in Times Square. Prior to joining Brilliant, Nesselrodt co-founded HyperPower Game Group, a startup that developed branded mobile games for celebrity and entertainment IP holders like CeeLo Green, Melissa Etheridge and Discovery’s Deadliest Catch.
