The Toy Foundation Funds Play Therapy Projects to Improve Pediatric Care in Children’s Hospitals

The Toy Foundation, the philanthropic arm of The Toy Association, is proud to announce $380,000 has been awarded to 20 children’s hospitals and health systems that serve under-resourced communities, as part of its 2024 Childrens Hospital Play Grants program. More than 240,000 children in need will benefit from this initiative, which funds innovative play therapy projects proven to significantly improve care, wellbeing, and treatment outcomes of hospitalized children.

As the toy community approaches an exciting season, The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) has announced its continued support for The Toy Foundation ahead of the highly anticipated Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards by signing on as a Vision Sponsor for the acclaimed event. The company also announced its third annual donation to the Foundation in support of its critical mission to deliver the extraordinary benefits of play to children in need, which aligns with TPCi’s overarching goal of improving the lives of children and supporting social equity. The donation will fold into The Pokémon Company International’s recent pledge to commit a minimum of $25 million USD to philanthropic organizations dedicated to said goals over the next five years, which includes The Toy Foundation as a long-term strategic partner.

The Toy Foundation Reveals the 2023 Toy of the Year Awards Finalists

An animated game to create movie magic, an activity table to drop musical beets, and an 8-foot inflatable obstacle course to spark endless outdoor fun are among the inventive finalists for the prestigious Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards for 2023.  The Toy Foundation (TTF) has announced the top 122 toys, games, and properties across 17 product categories that are advancing the world of play. The Toy Foundation Announces New Board with Appointments of Andy Quartin, Kathleen Campisano, and Others

The Toy Foundation (TTF) announced the appointment of Andy Quartin, CEO of Thames & Kosmos, LLC, as Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Kathleen Campisano, global chief marketing officer & general manager of Beacon Media Group, as Vice Chair. Together, Quartin and Campisano will lead TTF in its new strategic action plan to unite the toy industry behind the shared commitment to create a world where every child has the opportunity to experience comfort, joy, and the extraordinary physical, emotional, and educational benefits of play.

The Toy Foundation Secures Toy Donation & Financial Aid Channels for Turkey-Syria Earthquake Relief

In anticipation of the toy industry’s collective interest in responding to the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, The Toy Foundation (TTF) has secured partners for toy donation deliveries and for bringing direct financial aid to on-the-ground organizations. Tragically, fatalities from the catastrophic magnitude 7.8 earthquake this week surpassed 21,000 men, women, and children in Turkey and Syria. Tens of thousands more are injured and without housing and other essential items as cold weather continues to sweep the area. Immediate support is needed to provide access to food, clothing, and shelter.

The Toy Foundation and Children’s Hospital Association Announce 2022 Children’s Hospital Grantees

The Toy Foundation (TTF), the charitable organization for the North American toy industry and Children’s Hospital Association, which represents over 200 children’s hospitals in the nation, announced the Children’s Hospital Play Grants program will fund more than $385,000 in play therapy projects and activities at 19 children’s hospitals in the United States. The projects selected are designed to improve pediatric care through the healing power of play at hospitals that serve communities of the greatest need. For the second year, The Toy Foundation is partnering with Children’s Hospital Association to carry out the program.
