Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind decades of award-winning educational content, announced Sesame Street’s 53rd season will debut on Thursday, November 3 on Cartoonito on HBO Max. Episodes of the iconic children’s series, 35 in all, will drop every Thursday. The season will stream on PBS KIDS in Fall 2023.

Season 5 of Make48 will start airing Monday, September 12 2022, on PBS. This season of Make48 will reach over 90% of US households on local PBS stations. Toonz Entertainment, the content distribution division of global kids and family entertainment major Toonz Media Group, has closed strategic partnerships with leaders in the industry to bring exciting animation series to the market ahead of MIPCOM. Toonz Entertainment has acquired exclusive distribution rights for ‘Everything’s Rosie’ from UK-based V&S Entertainment Ltd. The program includes 104 episodes of 11 minutes each for LATAM, IBERIA, US, and Canada. Toonz will now have ‘Everything’s Rosie’ distribution rights for TV, Video-On-Demand, Internet and All Videogram rights.
The Pokémon Company International announced that the upcoming season of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series will premiere October 21, 2022, exclusively on Netflix in the U.S. The 25th season of the globally popular animation will follow Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu, as well as Goh and Chloe, as they embark on their latest adventures in the Pokémon world. The season features approximately 54 episodes, with an initial release of 12 episodes this October followed by three additional episode releases on Netflix in 2023. The dates for the subsequent episode releases will be announced closer to their launches. Moonbug Entertainment, a subsidiary of Candle Media, announced an agreement with MultiChoice, Africa’s leading entertainment company, to launch an exclusive linear preschool channel on Sub-Saharan African direct broadcast satellite service DStv. The new Moonbug Kids channel will include content from across the Moonbug portfolio of much-loved IPs.

ZAG, the award-winning global independent animation studio behind the hit franchise Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, has launched ZAG Stream, a new division established to drive forward the company’s direct to streaming content business to be led by Maria Doolan, ZAG’s SVP of TV Content. The first project from ZAG Stream is the animated superhero fantasy series, Fairyon, a reimagining of some of the world’s most famous fairy tale characters told with a superhero twist. Currently in pre-production, the project will be unveiled to buyers at the upcoming MIPCOM. The announcement was made by Jeremy Zag, Founder and CEO of ZAG.
King Features Syndicate, a unit of Hearst and home to some of the world’s most popular entertainment characters, have announced a new animated film in development inspired by the interactive children’s comic strip, Slylock Fox. King Features has also renewed its representation agreement for the property, which was previously known as Slylock Fox and Comics for Kids.
