Burger King in Pinkalicious Promotion

Burger King Corporation partnered with Pinkalicious and HarperCollins for a spring 2010 campaign that launched on March 1 featuring Pinkalicious, the top-selling children’s book property. The Joester Loria Group is the exclusive worldwide licensing agency representing Pinkalicious.

With the purchase of a Burger King Kids Meal, Burger King customers will receive one of four premiums including a Pinkalicious figurine with ring comb, a Pinkalicious wand, a Pinkalicious tiara, or Pinkalicious hair play barrettes. In addition to these premiums, Burger King will also distribute millions of Adventures newsletters in-restaurant featuring Pinkalicious and each includes a limited-edition poster.

Burger King will support the Pinkalicious promotion with a national television advertising campaign to run on major kids networks. Additionally www.clubbk.com will showcase interactive Pinkalicious content featuring pinkatastic fun and games. This program is also being promoted in all 7,000-plus restaurants with pink signage and point-of-purchase displays.

Chucho and Palomita Apparel for Sale in Walmart

Chucho and Palomita, two new young men’s and junior clothing brands with a focus on the Latino market, will launch at select Walmart stores across Arizona and California, as well as a few stores in Texas. The brands will be available in the young men’s and junior departments during the first week in March. Chucho, as well as Palomita, will make their debuts with a selection of original and vintage designed T-shirts including the iconic brands Roma, Casa Luker, Lulu, and La Central.

The brands were created by Molly Robbins, “Molona” a Mexico City native as well an apparel industry veteran. She has secured exclusive rights to use trademarks and vintage art from an array of Latino companies as well as creating her own original designs. Chucho and Palomita incorporate these colorful graphics providing a platform for individual style. Chucho and Palomita are manufactured by DLI, Inc., and are distributed by West Coast Novelty Corp.

Guess with Jess Now Airing in Canada

Classic Media announced that its new CGI-animated preschool television series, Guess with Jess, is now airing daily on Corus Entertainment’s preschool network Treehouse. Co-produced by Corus’ Nelvana Studio, Guess with Jess launched on BBC’s CBeebies channel (UK) in November 2009, and continues to run on the channel. In each episode, Jess the fluffy black and white cat, and his barnyard friends explore the world around them and discover that finding the answers to their questions can be fun.

Sanrio and Giant Tree House in Deal

Sanrio Global Consumer Products announced a deal with Giant Tree House to produce a collection of Hello Kitty children’s garden tools. The line, which launched at Toy Fair, will include rakes, shovels, brooms, trowel, cultivator, watering can, and gripping gloves. In addition, boxed sets will also be available. The Hello Kitty Garden Deluxe Set will include garden tags and stickers as well as an apron and gloves and tools. The Hello Kitty Window Sill Garden includes flower pots, mini tools, pot holders, tags, and stickers.

Davis Named SVP at CPLG

Cindy Davis has been named senior vice-president of licensing for Copyright Promotions Licensing Group (CPLG) U.S., Cookie Jar Group’s licensing arm. Reporting to Kirk Bloomgarden, EVP worldwide consumer products, she will oversee the development and implementation of CPLG’s U.S. licensing and merchandising programs for a wide range of properties.

Prior to joining CPLG U.S., Davis was a partner at Bomes Davis Branding where she worked with a variety of clients including Sony Pictures and IDT Entertainment. Previously, she served in several capacities at DIC Entertainment and Fox Family Worldwide/Saban.

R. Antonette Communications Launches

Ron Antonette has established R. Antonette Communications, a micro agency specializing in supporting family and parenting brands, green marketing and CSR campaigns, and professional services firms.

Antonette formerly of Fleishman-Hillard, GolinHarris, Mattel, and ConAgra Foods, is focusing on brand strategy and messaging, integrated marketing campaigns, and serving as a “communications director for hire,” providing team leadership to internal PR teams and counsel to companies’ senior marketing and business executives. Clients now include Solatube International, GP Toys, a law firm, and a captive insurance firm.

SwagDog Hires Felton

SwagDog, a direct-to-consumer online retailer and manufacturer offering custom apparel, has named Rob Felton as vice-president of marketing. Felton will oversee all aspects of marketing, advertising, creative development, and public relations as well as join the licensing and business development efforts for the company.

Felton most recently served as vice-president of marketing for Kidrobot, a creator and retailer of limited-edition art toys, apparel, and accessories.
