TRU Partners with Thyme Maternity
Toys “R” Us, Inc., announced that it has entered a partnership with Thyme Maternity, part of Montreal-based Reitmans Canada Ltd., to bring a collection of maternity apparel and accessories exclusively to Babies “R” Us in the U.S. The collection is available now online at Babiesrus.com and will be featured in dedicated maternity boutiques in approximately 150 Babies “R” Us stores nationwide in the coming weeks.
The collaboration to bring Thyme Maternity to the U.S. expands on an existing partnership between Thyme Maternity and Toys “R” Us Canada, which has brought the clothing line to 20 Babies “R” Us stores in Canada since last year.
The Thyme Maternity collection will anchor in-store Maternity and More boutiques, which range in size from 250 square feet to 1,000 square feet focusing on items just for mom. Joining Thyme in these shops will be Bravado Designs, a Medela Company, offering a full product assortment for breastfeeding mothers.
Kidz Bop to Enter Canadian Mass Market
Studio Licensing, Inc., has been granted Canadian representation rights for Kidz Bop. Studio Licensing will bring the brand to the mass market through a new Canadian consumer products program launch in 2013.
The Canadian launch will be led with the release of Kidz Bop 23 on January 15. It will be supported by an extensive 2013 television advertising campaign on networks such as YTV, Teletoon Retro, and Nick Canada. In addition, the Kidz Bop Kids, the face and voice behind the brand, are planning appearances, events, and press opportunities.
Disney Extends Deal into Kazakhstan
CTC Media, Inc., a Russian independent media company, and The Walt Disney Company CIS have announced the signing of a new two-year agreement to broadcast the films and animated content of The Walt Disney Company CIS via Channel 31 in Kazakhstan.
Under the terms of the agreement, Channel 31 receives the rights to broadcast 140 Disney movies and full-length animation titles, approximately 20 animated series as well as the latest Funniest Home Videos episodes. The deal also includes the following ABC television series for Kazakhstan: Revenge, Once Upon A Time, The River, and Missing.
