Celebrity Brand Licensing Signs on for Teresa Giudice Program

Celebrity Brand Licensing announced that it has been retained by Teresa Giudice, author, mother, and one of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, to represent her for licensing her name and trademarks “Skinny Italian” and “Fabulicious” by Teresa Giudice.

“Our initial focus will be on food, fragrance, fashion apparel (kids and adult), and cosmetics,” said Brett Freeman, president of Celebrity Brand Licensing, in a prepared statement. “We are currently in the process of cementing a number of agreements and expect to have product in the marketplace early next year.”

SnowFab Signs Deal with Paul Frank Industries

SnowFab announced that it has signed a multi-year licensing agreement with Paul Frank Industries to market and sell fashionable skis and snowboards worldwide starting this winter. The initial Paul Frank ski and snowboard product line will consist of a variety of sizes and shapes for junior and adult riders.

BioWorld to Launch Strawberry Shortcake Apparel

CPLG, Cookie Jar Entertainment’s licensing arm and global licensing agent for Strawberry Shortcake, along with American Greetings Properties, the intellectual property and outbound licensing division of American Greetings Corporation, announced that they have signed a licensing deal with BioWorld Merchandising. Through the licensing deal BioWorld will create apparel and accessory lines for the Strawberry Shortcake brand with the classic look from the 1980s and the new CGI-animated look from the TV series Berry Bitty Adventures, which airs on The Hub.

BioWorld’s Strawberry Shortcake product lines will feature collections of T-shirts, long- and short-sleeved tops, fleece, headwear, cold weather knits, bags, and wallets of all types. The classic Strawberry Shortcake collections will be in stores in March and are aimed at tween, teen, and young adult girls. The new-look Strawberry Shortcake collections will be available in stores in July and are aimed at girls ages 2–7. The classic Strawberry Shortcake apparel will initially be sold in specialty stores, while the new Strawberry Shortcake apparel will be sold in mid-tier and mass-market retailers.

BBC Announces Doctor Who Plush Deal

Underground Toys and BBC Worldwide announced a worldwide licensing deal for the manufacture of Doctor Who plush toys in all territories. The range will incorporate characters from the current Doctor Who series and also a separate program featuring characters from the classic series of Doctor Who. The characters produce unique noises tailored to each model, and will be released in several sizes. Underground Toys will begin shipping the line worldwide starting in June.

The Biggest Loser and Wholly Guacamole Join Forces

Inspired by the common goal of teaching Americans healthier eating habits, the NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group and Wholly Guacamole announced that Wholly Guacamole has become the official guacamole and salsa of the NBC series, The Biggest Loser. The partnership kicks off with this year’s The Biggest Loser: Couples. Licensed through NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group and Reveille LLC, the relationship will bring wide television exposure to the all-natural foods manufacturer and feature both Wholly Guacamole and Wholly Salsa as a healthy snack option to achieving weight loss goals.

Warner Bros. Appoints Licensing Reps for Asia

Warner Bros. Consumer Products announced the appointments of Pacific Licensing Studio (PLS) and Smarthead Holdings as the consumer products licensing representatives for the company in territories throughout Asia. Under the appointment, PLS will represent the licensing business in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, while Smarthead will oversee The People’s Republic of China, including Hong Kong and Macau. Both deals give access to WBCP’s portfolio of brands, including Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Harry Potter, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and Scooby-Doo, among others. The wide spectrum of licensing categories includes products such as publishing materials, apparel, accessories, stationery, gifts, and novelties, as well as branded foods, personal care products, and promotion licensing.
