CMC Pictures Taps Striker Entertainment for Worldwide Licensing and Merchandizing for “Meg 2: the Trench”

CMC Pictures, a leading Chinese entertainment company engaged in the development, production, marketing, promotion, domestic and international distribution of live-action and animation films, has tapped Striker Entertainment LLC, a leading independent entertainment licensing agency, to handle worldwide licensing and merchandising for “Meg 2: The Trench”, the much anticipated sequel to the wildly successful original motion picture, The Meg, released in late Summer 2018. Striker Entertainment will oversee multiple categories for the hugely popular underwater megalodon franchise, including toys and collectibles, lifestyle products, publishing, digital collectibles, gaming, and more.

Preschool Show ‘Dino Ranch’ Expands with Tricero-tastic Publishing from Scholastic

This fall, Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, and Boat Rocker released the fifth and sixth titles in their publishing program based on the entertainment company’s hit preschool series Dino Ranch, where the Wild West meets prehistoric times. Pterodactyl Attack!, a new 8×8 storybook, and a Level 1 reader titled Home on the Ranch became widely available in September and joined four previously published titles, including a Water Wonder novelty book. The Scholastic publishing program is geared to ages 3 to 8, and combines two kid-favorite themes, dinosaurs and cowboys, for sureto-please stories.

Xilam Animation and Youku Journey into New Season of ‘Lupin’s Tales’

Academy Award-nominated French animation studio Xilam Animation is extending its partnership with Youku, the online video and streaming platform of Alibaba Group, for a new season of the popular preschool 2D and 3D animated series Lupin’s Tales. The new series will also be available on France Télévisions (France). Currently in production, the upcoming season of Lupin’s Tales will consist of 78 x 7’ episodes and is set to launch on Youku and France Télévisions in early 2024.

Academy Award-nominated French animation studio Xilam Animation has secured a wave of new international broadcast deals for its hit CGI preschool comedy Oggy Oggy (156 x 7’) following the success of the show’s first season on Netflix since it debuted globally in August 2021. The new broadcast partners for Oggy Oggy include Clan/RTVE (Spain), RTS (French-speaking Switzerland), Hop! (Israel), Sony YAY! (India), Daekyo TV (South Korea) and E-Junior (UEA).

Following the success of Monster High The Movie, Nickelodeon and Mattel Television announced that they have greenlit a sequel to the live-action movie musical. Based on the iconic Mattel franchise about the children of famous monsters and creatures, the feature-length TV movie will begin production in January in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and will air on Nickelodeon and stream on Paramount+ in 2023.
