Peppa Pig Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Peppa’s Cinema Party Featuring All-New Season 10 Episodes

Hasbro, a leading toy and game company, announced that Peppa Pig will jump into cinemas for the character’s 20th anniversary and biggest cinema celebration ever beginning February 2024. The hour-long cinema release, Peppa’s Cinema Party, will screen in English in cinemas in Australia, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States, offering 10 exclusive never-before-seen Peppa Pig Season 10 episodes including a 3-part Wedding Party Special, of which one episode features the voices of Katy Perry as Ms. Leopard and Orlando Bloom as Mr. Raccoon. A party bus bonus episode will also be included, as well as new interactive entertainment featuring Peppa and her friends breaking into the real world through a mixture of animation and live action featuring five brand new songs to sing along to and dances to move to. Little ones and the entire family will be able to have the ultimate cinema outing and celebrate along with their favorite onscreen characters. Plus, the fun continues outside cinemas, with parents and little ones able to stream the all-new music at home, in the car or on the go!

MeteoHeroes Broadcast Growth Continues in Asia, Africa and Europe

In the run-up to Asia TV Forum and Market (ATF), Asia’s leading entertainment content market, Mondo TV Group, one of the largest European producers and distributors of animated content, has announced the arrival of award-winning hit kids’ animation MeteoHeroes – co-produced by Mondo TV S.p.A and Meteo Expert (MOPI srl) – in multiple markets in Asia, Africa and Europe. Series one (52 x 7’) and series two (52 x 13’) of the wildly popular environmentally theme show have been sold to Cineplex of Thailand, a leading pay TV channel. They will broadcast on True-branded channels and True-branded platforms, both on an exclusive pay TV and a non-exclusive free TV basis.

Spin Master’s Newest Series ‘Unicorn Academy’ Secures Top Spot on Kids’ Most Watched Lists

Spin Master’s newest fantasy-adventure, animated series, Unicorn Academy, which launched November 2nd on Netflix, has quickly earned its place on kids most watch lists captivating young audiences everywhere. The magical fantasy adventure series has racked up more than 30 million of hours of watch time since first airing earlier in the month.  Supporting a broad multi-platform approach to franchise building, Spin Master Entertainment released supporting content beyond Netflix with in-game activations on Roblox and short-form videos on TikTok and YouTube, amassing 37 million views on the Unicorn Academy YouTube channel. Reviews for the new series are also positive, including Common Sense Media, which gave Unicorn Academy 5/5 stars and exclaims that “the magical world is exquisitely imagined” and that “the non-unicorn creatures are equally fantastical.”

DeaPlaneta Entertainment Acquires Rights of ‘Bugsbot Ignition’ and its Spin-Off ‘Bugsbot G’

DeAPlaneta Entertainment and South Korean leading media company Cocktail Media have reached an agreement to distribute the kid’s animated HIT series Bugsbot Ignition and its spin-off, the short-form animation series Bugsbot G outside of Asia. Bugsbot Ignition, an animated series aimed to kids between 6 and 9 years old, has been airing in China (Jinying Cartoon, Toonmax, Yooman Cartoon, among many others), Taiwan (YoYo TV), Hong Kong (Viu TV), Indonesia (rtv) and, of course, South Korea (Tooniverse, MBC, AniOne, Cartoon Network, among others) where it has become a real phenomenon. In addition to this, the 24 different toy lines of Bugsbot Ignition which were commercialised in South Korea reached the #2 toy sales rank in domestic sales.

Sesame Workshop Releases New Content to Support Children and Families Dealing with Grief and Loss

Sesame Workshop, the global impact nonprofit behind Sesame Street and more, has released new resources during Children’s Grief Awareness Month to support young children and their families who are coping with grief and loss. With philanthropic investment from the New York Life Foundation, one of the largest funders and champions in the childhood bereavement field, children and families dealing with the death of a loved one will have access to new resources that can help them cope.   As the holidays approach, the absence of loved ones can be felt even more deeply. One in twelve children in the U.S. will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the age of 18. About 5 to 10 percent of children show issues that include but are not limited to higher rates of depression and anxiety, higher rates of alcohol and substance abuse disorders, and lower levels of educational success. It is estimated that over 1 million children suffered the death of a parent, main caregiver, or grandparent due to the pandemic, with families from Black and Hispanic communities at a higher rate of COVID-19 mortality. Yet there are very limited resources to discuss this traumatic experience or event with children in ways that are developmentally appropriate and provide both understanding as well as comfort.

PBS KIDS Announces Carl the Collector, Its First Series Centering on Autistic Characters

PBS KIDS today announced Carl the Collector, an animated series for children ages 4-8 and its first show featuring a lead character on the autism spectrum. The new series was created by New York Times best-selling illustrator and author Zachariah OHora (“My Cousin Momo!”) and is produced by Fuzzytown Productions and Spiffy Pictures. Through its stories, the series celebrates the diverse ways kids think and express themselves, while helping them develop a strong sense of self and community. Carl the Collector is slated to premiere in Fall 2024 on PBS KIDS.
