Neil Patrick Harris Gets Role in The Smurfs

It has been reported on the internet for the past week that actor Neil Patrick Harris (of Doogie Howser, M.D.; How I Met Your Mother; and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) has been cast as a human character in the upcoming Smurfs movie from Sony. He will reportedly shoot the part this April while on break from filming How I Met Your Mother.

4sight Licensing Signs Pet Deals

4sight Licensing Solutions-a subsidiary of 4Kids Entertainment, Inc., has signed several new licensing agreements to expand the American Kennel
Club (AKC) and the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) lines.

From Pet Brands, Inc., will come a line of jerky and other natural chew products for dogs; from red82 will come
mobile iPhone applications enabling users to access breed information for dogs and cats for the iPhone and iPod Touch; and from FotoGrafix USA will
come an array of decals, window clings, and useful accessory adornments.

Mr. Men and Little Miss Enter Interactive Gaming

Chorion has appointed licensing agency AT New Media, and specifically its’ brands division, as its global interactive consultant for the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand.

AT New Media will introduce Mr. Men and Little Miss to the interactive
gaming industry, securing third-party multi-platform licensing deals worldwide. Platforms will include PCs, games consoles, handheld games, and mobile phone devices.

This deal follows Chorion’s recent agreement with Scrollmotion for scrolling books, the first iPhone and iPod Touch app licenses for the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand.

Madame Alexander Acquires License for StinkyKids

Stone America Licensing announced that the Alexander Doll Company has been appointed the exclusive manufacturer for StinkyKids, soft-bodied dolls.

The StinkyKids doll line sold out at all 110 Nordstrom stores, at Nordstrom.com, and at FAO Schwarz New York in Q4 2009. Madame Alexander plans to expand the program to additional
specialty, mid-tier, and mass retailers.

StinkyKids are a group of 10 diverse “little stinkers” who learn to make right choices through the mistakes we all make as kids, and who live by the motto “Always Be a Leader of Good.” They
help encourage positive principles in children’s lives in a playful manner that kids love.

Nickelodeon Signs License for Pediatric Hearing Aids

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) announced a partnership with Starkey Laboratories, Inc., to launch co-branded pediatric hearing aids. The pediatric earmolds specifically created for children ages 0-13 will feature characters from Nickelodeon’s TV shows, including SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, Go, Diego, Go! and Dora the Explorer.
