Cartoon Network Looking for Liv Licensees at MAGIC

Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) is representing Spin Master’s Liv doll line at MAGIC Marketplace in the first push to extend the doll line into secondary categories such as apparel and accessories. Since its launch at retail in fall 2009, Liv has made a name for itself in the fashion doll category by focusing on realism through aspirational friendship play.

This is the first step in extending the consumer products program for the fashion-based brand. CNE, in a recent deal with Spin Master, is serving as the licensing and merchandising agent for Liv. CNE is actively seeking partners in a range of other product categories including footwear, sleepwear, publishing, and interactive.

Hot Wheels, Danica Patrick Partnership

Mattel’s Hot Wheels and JR Motorsports’ team driver Danica Patrick debuted the “Designed by Hot Wheels” paint scheme to be featured on a NASCAR vehicle at the Michigan International Speedway. Hot Wheels and Patrick also offered a sneak peek of the Keys to Speed national retail promotion featuring a television campaign starring Patrick, which launches this September.

In addition to this on-track partnership, Hot Wheels is launching a national retail promotion with Patrick that gives consumers the “keys to speed.” “Keys” will be included in various cars and playsets giving consumers a chance to instantly win one of hundreds of prizes.
