nabi, Simon in Mall Promo

Fuhu, Inc., creator of the nabi tablet, announced a partnership with Simon Property Group to create the nabi Doseum (“Do-seum”) interactive exhibit inside Simon malls. The first 25 nabi Doseums will roll out exclusively in Simon Mall locations beginning later this year.

In addition, nabi is collaborating with DreamWorks Animation, one of Fuhu’s latest nabi partners, to bring to life the Doseum concept.

The nabi Doseums will offer interactive and entertaining learning modules individually focused on elements of subjects including history, science, social studies, and arts. Each destination will also feature DreamWorks Animation characters and themes.

nabi Doseums will also offer a place for nabi support and services for parents while children are free to explore. The support and guidance will include nabi Tablet rental, nabi Cares service and support, nabi product vending machines, and informational classes for parents on technology integration and child development.

Jakks Closed on Senior Secured Credit Facility

Jakks PacificJakks Pacific, Inc., announced that it closed on a $75 million senior secured credit facility with General Electric Capital Corporation (GECC) with immediate funding available. Jakks says it intends to use the net proceeds for working capital, capital expenditures, and general corporate purposes as needed.

“We have a broad and robust portfolio this year comprised of evergreen categories, popular new licensed properties, and organic brands. We continue to implement our strategy of product innovation and international growth, combined with a tight rein on operating costs. With the traction of our turnaround and product flow coming out of 2013 and heading into 2014, the credit facility commitment will provide financial flexibility to our capital structure,” said Stephen Berman, co-founder and CEO, Jakks Pacific, Inc., in a statement. “We appreciate GE Capital’s understanding of our business and with their support, we should be positioned well for profitability in 2014 and beyond.”

Best known for her role as Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon shows iCarly and Sam & Cat, she will become the face of Tamagotchi L.i.f.e., representing the property and participating in a marketing campaign that will reach fans of her work as well as the millions of young adults who grew up loving the Tamagotchi brand. McCurdy will play an active role in promoting Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. through her social media fan base as well as through traditional media, and host the winner of the Tamagotchi L.i.f.e. Tap and Hatch “Win a Spa Day with Jennette McCurdy in Hollywood!” The sweepstakes kicked off with this announcement.
