Schleich Seeks Imaginative Stories for Times Square Celebration

Schleich-Times Square
Schleich® USA , the world’s leading manufacturer of animal figurines, will culminate its 85th anniversary celebration of the Power of Imagination at the crossroads of the world, Times Square! Now through October 9, kids can submit 60-second videos depicting stories inspired by imaginative playtime with Schleich figurines and playsets. Ten finalists will be selected for public voting on Schleich’s Instagram channel. Three winners will have their ideas brought to life by famed toy photographer, Mitchel Wu, and featured on the brand’s Times Square billboard this holiday season!

“Our goal this year has been to remind grown ups just how magical a child’s imagination can be,” said Annie Laurie Zomermaand, Chief Commercial Officer for Schleich USA. “Throughout the year, we’ve done this in increasingly big ways. There’s no better place to cap off our 85th year with a Schleich lion’s roar than in Times Square!”

Schleich’s yearlong celebration of imagination kicked off at New York Toy Fair, where Mitchel Wu unveiled a series of photographs bringing to life imaginative stories shared by kids. Then in June, more than 5,000 kids from around the world submitted their own photos depicting the rich, immersive details and fantastic stories of their imaginations.

Interested kids and their parents should visit the Power of Imagination campaign website, where they can view the existing photos created by Mitchel Wu and watch inspiring video content before creating and uploading their own 60-second entry. The entry period runs from September 22 through October 11. Ten finalists will be announced on October 13 and will each receive $100 Schleich prize packages. Voting for the grand prize winners will run on Instagram through October 18, and three winners will each have their video turned into a photo by renowned toy photographer, Mitchel Wu, as well as featured on Schleich’s Times Square billboard in December, a prize package valued at $500.
