Xilam Shows Get Picked Up by Netflix & Disney+

Xilam-Chip'N'Dale

Two series from French animation studio Xilam Animation are set to launch globally this summer on Disney+ and Netflix.

Xilam’s original series Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life premieres on Disney+ July 28, with three new episodes getting released weekly. It is executive produced by Xilam Animation founder and CEO Marc du Pontavice and directed by Jean Cayrol, with Vincent Artraud as composer and Hugo Gittard as story editor.

Meanwhile Oggy Oggy created by Cayrol and Cédric Guarner — is a CGI-animated spin-off of Xilam’s Oggy and the Cockroaches franchise, set to debut on Netflix in the U.S. and internationally on August 24. The preschool series is directed by Frederic Martin and executive produced by du Pontavice and is the first full CGI production from Xilam’s new dedicated CGI studio in Angouleme, France.

Xilam also has plans to roll out a consumer products program in support of Oggy Oggy in Q4 of 2022, alongside a free-to-air presence with broadcasters that include France Télévisions, Super RTL in Germany, and Discovery Italy

“The launch of Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life and Oggy Oggy this summer is unprecedented on many levels and marks many significant milestones for Xilam. With Chip ‘n’ Dale: Park Life, this is the first time Disney has entrusted a company based outside of the U.S. or U.K. to fully create and produce a series based on one of their heritage brands. Disney’s commission is also testament to Xilam’s unique know-how in the field of non-verbal slapstick comedy,” said du Pontavice. “With Oggy Oggy, it’s not often such a major initial commitment from Netflix is received, and this series also benefits from major R&D and art development at Xilam’s studios, resulting in a vivid CG world that’s heavily influenced by our extensive expertise and artistry in 2D animation.”
