IHOP, Quaker Oats in Deal

IHOP announced a new partnership with The Quaker Oats Company resulting in the creation of a proprietary blend of oatmeal, and the first jointly developed breakfast item between the two brands.

Beginning this week, IHOP will add a choice of oatmeal varieties made with Quaker Oats, including Super Fruit & Nut Oatmeal, Super Fruit Oatmeal, and Banana & Brown Sugar Oatmeal to their menu.

Also new this fall, IHOP announced plans to expand its under-600-calorie Simple & Fit menu and other more wholesome menu offerings.

Lawless Signs Deal with Cheer Channel

Lawless Entertainment has been appointed as the worldwide representative for Cheer Channel, Inc., (CCI) for all publishing, licensing, merchandising, and program sales of existing content including Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader, a Cheer Channel original webseries. Additionally, Lawless will develop, secure financing, and aid in the production of future drama and reality projects for film and television.

Cheer Channel, Inc., is the online destination for the athletes and fans of the spirit industry reaching audiences through streaming content on the web as well as via Cheer Channel TV on the Dish Satellite Network and the FilmOn broadcast network.

CEO and founder, Cindy Villarreal, is a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and NBA Dallas Mavericks Dancer and NFL executive. She is the founder of Proformance Sports Marketing and Entertainment in Austin, Texas.

Aurora Signs Garfield

Aurora World, Inc., announced that it has acquired the license for Garfield plush. Created by Jim Davis, Garfield is read by 200 million people in more than 2,100 newspapers and journals worldwide every day. Garfield also stars in The Garfield Show, now airing on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and in 130 countries around the globe. Aurora will produce a variety of plush products, including seasonal offerings, based on Garfield and his friends.

The new collection launches next month. Garfield will be distributed to specialty shops, gift stores, and retailers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand through December 31, 2015.

MerryMakers Signs Pete the Cat

Children’s brand Pete the Cat and MerryMakers, Inc., have signed a deal for the launch of an exclusive worldwide licensing program featuring Pete the Cat.

Pete the Cat is featured in four children’s picture books published by Harper Collins, including a new book, Pete the Cat Saves Christmas, due out later this month. The first three books dominate the New York Times Bestseller List and the series is expected to have a combined 1 million copies sold by the end of this year.

Pete the Cat is a YouTube sensation, with more than 5,000,000 hits to date. The original art featuring Pete the Cat is exhibited in galleries. The newest gallery opened in Tokyo this year.

MerryMakers is offering the property to licensees immediately, and plans a retail collection for holiday 2013.
