Genius Brands Announces Additional SpacePOP Licensees
Genius Brands International (GBI) announced that it has signed multiple new licensing partners for its music and fashion-driven brand for tween girls, SpacePOP. TASTE Beauty, Bare Tree Media, Canal Toys, and Yowie Group, Ltd. are the latest partners to debut merchandise based on GBI’s new brand. These join current partners Jaya Apparel (apparel), H.E.R. Accessories (accessories), Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (home entertainment), and Imprint (publishing), part of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, who will debut the brand’s book series.
Taste Beauty will create a line of branded beauty products for tween girls based on the SpacePOP princess characters, including lip balm, lip gloss, nail polish, nail accessories, bath and body products and specialty gift sets.
Bare Tree Media, the creator and digital publisher of virtual branded goods within mobile and social platforms, is crafting a treasure of emoticons as well as digital photo stickers, mobile phone themes, web-enabled TV themes, and more, which can be inserted in mobile messaging, social posts, and photos.
Canal Toys will create a line of craft and activity kits based on the SpacePOP characters and storylines.
Yowie Group Ltd. will create a line of SpacePOP confections.
FC Bayern Munich, One Entertainment Partner for U.S. Merchandising
FC Bayern Munich and One Entertainment announced a licensing partnership that will accelerate the club’s branded merchandising strategy in North America. As part of the agreement, One Entertainment will work with FC Bayern to market, promote, and license the team across a wide range of product categories, including apparel, accessories, and housewares.
This represents an expansion of the existing range of FC Bayern products currently offered from the club’s dedicated U.S. online store, and will be the first time club-branded merchandise will be available within the U.S. retail market.
Rubie’s, Marvel in Captain America: Civil War Deal
Rubie’s Costume Company, Inc., has signed a licensing agreement with Marvel to produce officially licensed costumes, costume tops, masks, and accessories for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, the 13th installment in the Marvel cinematic universe.
Available in child and adult sizes, the collection includes Captain America and Iron Man along with Winter Solider, Black Widow, Vision, Hawkeye, and introduces additional characters Black Panther, Crossbones, Falcon, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch.
In addition, Rubie’s Pet Shop Boutique offers new styles for pets and Imagine by Rubie’s offers dress-up costumes and accessories for children in separates and boxed sets.
The film opens May 6 and the collection will be available this Halloween.
Joester Loria Group Announces Deals for happi by Dena
The Joester Loria Group announced that happi by Dena signed CR Gibson for collections of infant gift and keepsakes launching spring 2017. The line will include first-year calendars, memory/keepsake books, scrapbooks and scrapbook kits, hand/footprints kits, photo frames, photo albums, growth charts, keepsake/trinket boxes, and melamine dinnerware sets.
Lambs and Ivy’s infant bedding program continues to expand with new bedding collections, room accessories, blankets, and plush. This month, the happi by Dena Olivia collection launches exclusively in over 245 Babies “R” Us stores and online. Checks in the Mail recently renewed its partnership with happi by Dena and will launch three new check collections in fall 2016.
American Red Cross Signs Seltzer Licensing Group
The American Red Cross has selected The Seltzer Licensing Group to manage and expand its brand licensing program with new partnerships that will help further their mission to empower consumers and organizations to be prepared for emergencies.
Red Cross consumer products will bring a trusted and authoritative name to the Home Safety, First Aid, Medical Device, and Disaster Preparedness categories among others. Eton, The Ready Project, and TOMY are part of the current licensing program.
Hugo Games in Deal with QB Cam Newton
Hugo Games, a mobile game developer/publisher, announced that it has entered into a worldwide exclusive agreement with Cam Newton, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers. A mobile game featuring Newton is expected on the market in the next 12 months. The deal was brokered by WME/IMG.
