Nemerov Promoted at Warner Music Group; Hires Two in Licensing Dept.

Warner Music Group (WMG) announced the promotion of Sara Nemerov to senior vice-president and head of global consumer products and brand licensing. Her responsibilities include overseeing the consumer products and brand licensing strategy for the company, as well as developing retail partnerships and new product lines in collaboration with WMG’s iconic labels and their artists.

In addition, Nemerov has grown her department by hiring two additional licensing managers. Alana Schnee, who previously held roles at Brand Squared Licensing and Estée Lauder Company, will work on soft goods such as apparel, accessories, footwear, cosmetics, and home textiles. Katie Reilly, who joined from the National Basketball Association, will be helping build international licensing activities and work on hard goods such as food and beverages, home furnishings, sporting goods, and toys/games.

Nemerov joined WMG in 2009, taking up the newly created position of SVP, consumer products and brand licensing, Rhino Entertainment and Frank Sinatra Enterprises. Prior to joining WMG, she served as vice-president, global licensing for The Trump Organization. This year, Nemerov was elected to the board of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers Association (LIMA).

Melia Joins Leaf Trading Cards

Leaf Trading Cards announced Terry Melia has joined the company as public relations manager. He will work on public relations, marketing, and social media. Melia has more than 20 years of experience in the trading card and memorabilia industry. He joins the company from Upper Deck. Prior to landing at Upper Deck in 1998, he helped launch the Beverly Hills-based Trading Cards Magazine in 1991 and served as its editor for five years. He also kicked off a sister publication entitled The Encyclopedia of Sports Memorabilia and Price Guide. From 1995–1997, Melia lived in Seattle and worked for Wizards of the Coast.
