Award-winning global independent animation studio ZAG will exhibit at Brazil’s upcoming CCXP, the world’s #1 pop culture festival, reaching thousands of fans for the company’s award-winning flagship brand Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, and new cosplay fans for Ghostforce, which debuted in the region in May 2022 on Discovery Kids. In 2019, pre-pandemic, the CCXP convention attracted over 280,000 pop culture fans, thousands more than its popular U.S. counterparts, with over 9 million participating digitally during 2020 and 2021. Organizers anticipate even more attendees at this years’ event, which runs from December 1–4.
Emmy Award winner Craig Gerber, the creative force behind Disney’s acclaimed series Sofia the First, Elena of Avalor and its newest hit Firebuds, has extended his overall development deal with Disney Branded Television. Gerber also wrote the television movie that launched Disney’s first little girl princess, Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess, which debuted 10 years ago (Nov. 18, 2012) and remains TV’s #1 cable telecast of all time among Girls 2-5.

More than 300 people from 20 countries gathered under the lights at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, and another 260 via livestream, to celebrate and honor the winners of People of Play’s 15th annual Toy & Game International Excellence Awards (The TAGIE Awards). Nintendo has announced that global sales of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games for the Nintendo Switch family of systems have surpassed 10 million combined units in the first three days since their worldwide launch on Nov. 18, 2022. This is the highest global sales level for any software on any Nintendo platform within the first three days. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the latest mainline games in the Pokémon series, releasing three years after the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games, also for Nintendo Switch. In these newest titles, which welcome series newcomers and veterans alike, players experience a unique open-world Pokémon adventure for the first time in the franchise.
