Sesame Workshop Launches New ‘Coming Together’ Resources to Help Build Children’s Sense of Identity and Community

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, released new bilingual videos and resources as part of an ongoing initiative to help families have open and honest conversations with young children around diversity and celebrating their own unique identities. The new resources, which are free and available in English and Spanish, can be found at SesameStreetinCommunities.org.

Sesame Workshop and Discovery Education Launch Early Learning Channel for PreK to Grade 2 Kids

Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street, and Discovery Education, a worldwide edtech leader whose state-of-the-art, K-12 digital platform supports learning wherever it takes place, announced the creation of a new Sesame Workshop-branded early learner channel designed to meet the needs of children from PreK to grade 2. Consistent with Discovery Education’s solutions for schools, the channel will include high-quality video content today’s students know and love, as well as lesson plans and educator resources; interactive games and activities for kids; and family partnership supports—all focused on a whole-child approach.

The game launched an exclusive Pandariffic celebration with in-game events and online downloadables on April 6.

FilmRise Acquires North American AVOD and FAST Rights to Yu-Gi-Oh! TV Series

FilmRise, the New York-based film and television studio and streaming network, has announced it has acquired the North American rights to stream TV episodes based on one of the most renowned international anime properties of all time, Yu-Gi-Oh! from Konami Cross Media NY, Inc, (“KCM”), a member of the Konami Group. The deal grants AVOD streaming rights for the FilmRise Streaming Network, including all FilmRise owned and operated Apps and FAST Channels. The announcement was made today by Max Einhorn, SVP of Acquisitions and Co-Production at FilmRise.

‘Donkey Hodie’ from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures Gets Greenlight for Second Season

Donkey Hodie, the hit puppet series from Fred Rogers Productions and Spiffy Pictures, has been greenlit for a second season on PBS KIDS. The series is produced by Fred Rogers Productions, the award-winning children’s educational media organization behind multiple well-loved, Emmy-winning PBS KIDS series, including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, and Spiffy Pictures, the award-winning production company behind many acclaimed series for kids and families, including PBS KIDS’ Emmy-nominated animated hit Nature Cat. Inspired by original characters from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, Donkey Hodie is a social-emotional learning series for kids ages 3-5 that empowers viewers to dream big and overcome obstacles through practicing skills including resilience, persistence, and problem solving. The second season of Donkey Hodie is expected to premiere in spring 2023 on PBS KIDS.

APC Kids Lands International Deals for Live Action and Animated Slate

APC Kids, the children’s entertainment division of leading co-production and distribution group APC Studios, has secured a raft of key international deals for live action family series Go Green with the Grimwades and brand-new 2D animated series Zoe & Milo. These deals mark the first global sales for both series, with APC Kids debuting Zoe & Milo at MIPTV this week.
