Leading global licensing agency Surge Licensing has been appointed by the Stanley Kubrick Film Archives and Global Licensing Agent for the brand, Caroline Mickler Ltd, to develop a North American licensing & retail program inspired by six iconic features from the visionary filmmaker, including The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut and the dystopian masterpiece A Clockwork Orange, which continues its 50th Anniversary celebration this year.

Award-winning independent animation studio ZAG has signed Megalicense, the leading licensing agency across Russia and CIS, to represent its ZAG Heroez brand portfolio, headlined by the pop culture hit Miraculous – Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir.  The announcement was made today by Julian Zag, EVP, Global Operations and Head of Consumer Products.

WildBrain, a global leader in kids’ and family entertainment, and Jay Ward Productions, Inc., have signed an agreement across distribution, production and licensing for the entire portfolio of classic Ward-owned IP that includes such legendary properties as George of the Jungle, Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Dudley Do-Right, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Super Chicken and more. Under the agreement, WildBrain will add 788 episodes of Jay Ward Productions’ classic animation to its distribution library, and the two companies will create brand-new content based on the Ward portfolio.

Leading global entertainment, talent and sports company UTA has been appointed as the North American licensing and publishing agency for YouTube Originals series Super Sema. The program marks the world’s first children’s animated series focused on an African kid superhero. UTA will work alongside global master toy licensee Just Play, and will focus on retail initiatives and key partners in publishing, apparel, home and accessories.

Firefly Brand Entertainment has been appointed by America’s #1 Classic TV Network, MeTV (owned by Weigel Broadcasting Co.), as the North American licensing agent for the popular hosted horror movie television program “Svengoolie” and also for “Toony the Tuna” from the live-action/animated comedy morning show “Toon In With Me.”

WarnerMedia Kids & Family announced multiple new acquisitions that will bring some of the most celebrated digital preschool content to Cartoonito on HBO Max and Cartoon Network beginning Monday, Jan. 31. The new preschool block has picked up popular shows from Moonbug Entertainment, including several offerings from Blippi, CoComelon—the #1 most-watched brand on YouTube, Lellobee City Farm, and a second season of Mia’s Magic Playground.

WildBrain CPLG, one of the world’s leading entertainment, sport and brand licensing agencies, has further expanded its Lifestyle portfolio with the signing of global representation rights for the internationally renowned Swiss motorsport company, Sauber Motorsport AG. Under the deal, WildBrain CPLG will handle all Sauber brands, including Sauber Motorsports, which owns and operates the Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, as well as Sauber Technologies and Sauber Esports. The initial focus will be on the UK, EMEA, China, India and North America markets.
