Squinkies to Be Developed into Video Game

Blip Toys, the company behind Squinkies collectible figures, has granted Activision Publishing, Inc., the exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture, and distribute video games based on the Squinkies brand and characters. The agreement covers entertainment software products across multiple platforms such as handheld, console, and connected platforms, as well as PC and mobile devices.

The new Squinkies video games are expected to debut this year, with the first Nintendo DS title for girls releasing in April.

Pepsi Signed as X Factor Sponsor

Fox Broadcasting Company, Syco Television, and FremantleMedia North America announced Pepsi as an official sponsor of The X Factor, the international phenomenon created and executive-produced by Simon Cowell that makes its U.S. debut in this fall on Fox.

The comprehensive sponsorship of The X Factor by Pepsi includes an extensive, multi-platform off-air marketing partnership; weekly in-show integrations and placements; and an immersive content experience online. Pepsi will be the exclusive beverage sponsor of The X Factor property both on and off-air.

Tetris to Be Featured on Internet-Connected TVs

Oberon Media announced an agreement with The Tetris Company, LLC, the licensor of the Tetris brand worldwide, to license the exclusive rights for the Tetris game on internet-connected televisions.

Oberon Media plans to launch with its first connected television partner in the first quarter. The game will feature a new mode called “Space Mode.” Space Mode takes users on an adventure where mini games and challenges are played in order to proceed to the next step in the journey.
