TRU Expands Price Match Guarantee

Toys “R” Us, Inc. is enhancing its price match guarantee on items available in Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores nationwide to include selected online retailer pricing. The company will now match online pricing on in-store purchases of identical items from,,,,,,,,,, and

Its price match guarantee will be given at checkout. Customers will also have the opportunity to receive a price adjustment retroactively in stores with a valid receipt if a purchased item is advertised at a lower price at a local competitor within seven days of their original purchase. The difference will be returned to the customer as the same form of payment in which the original purchase was made.

Nickelodeon to Celebrate Worldwide Day of Play

Nickelodeon announced plans to celebrate its 10th annual Worldwide Day of Play (WWDoP) health and wellness initiative in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on Sept. 21. This year’s WWDoP event will feature more than 30 national and local partner organizations, including the NFL, NBA, U.S. Tennis Association, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the YMCA of Greater New York. Leading up to WWDoP, Nickelodeon will also partner with NYC & Company to host health and wellness-themed public events at iconic New York City locations, beginning Sept. 16. Locations include the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum and Union Square.

Deadmau5, Space Invaders Collaborate on New Brand

DHX Media, Square Enix/Taito, and Live Nation Merchandise (LNM) have announced plans for a co-branded lifestyle brand featuring electronic music producer deadmau5 and the classic video game Space Invaders. The new brand will launch across multiple categories at high-end and specialty retailers this winter.

Licensing and merchandising rights will primarily be handled by LNM across North America, with support from DHX Media, which initiated the collaboration. Square Enix/Taito is the exclusive owner of Space Invaders.

PlayStation4 to Launch November 15

Sony announced that PlayStation4 will launch Nov. 15 in the U.S and Canada, the rollout will follow in Europe and Latin America on Nov. 29. The new PS4 system will feature more powerful graphics and speed, integrated social media capabilities, and second-screen features. By year’s end, 33 titles will be available for the new system, including licensed franchises such as NBA 2K14, Skylanders Swap Force, Madden 25, Need for Speed, and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.
