Toys “R” Us Opens 100th Store in China

Ten years after first entering the market, Toys “R” Us announced that the company has opened its 100th store in China. The milestone was marked by a grand opening celebration event that took place Saturday, January 16, at the APM Shopping Mall in Wang Fu Jing, one of the leading retail districts in Beijing, where Toys “R” Us opened one of its 27 new stores across the country within the past year.

Toys “R” Us opened its first store in China in 2006 and currently operates in 44 cities throughout the country, including six where the company established a presence for the first time last year. China has been one of the most important markets for the company’s global expansion plans, and growth in this region is expected to continue with the planned opening of more than 30 new Toys “R” Us stores in 2016.

Jazwares Launches Tube Heroes University

Jazwares announced the launch of Tube Heroes University, an educational program created by Tube Heroes for future YouTube stars. Building upon their line of Tube Heroes toys, which place real life authentic and relatable YouTube stars as action heroes, the Tube Heroes University program aims to teach kids about the Digital World by providing tips and advice on what it takes to succeed in the DigitalVerse. Tube Heroes University launched on January 7, 2016, with sponsors CaptainSparklez, AntVenom, ChooChoosGaming, AshleyMarieeGaming (a combined total of over two billion video views), and will continue as an ongoing initiative with many more stars to join.

The program will be taught by the Tube Heroes themselves through a variety of methods: engaging videos, informative vlogs, tutorials, entertaining stop-motion animations, apps, contests, and more. The curriculum will kick-off with a DIY Stop Motion app where kids can learn how to turn their still figures into animated clips. Easy and fun to use, this app will be taught by CaptainSparklez and Jerry the Slime. The program will then continue with a Create Your Avatar app, where kids will be able to come up with their own special DigitalVerse character.
