Madonna recently posted a story and pictures on her Instagram account of her 8-year-old twins Stella and Estere playing with a new fashion doll line, I’m A Girly (Click Here). In the video, the girls are playing with the fashion dolls, which encourage children to play creatively and help them find their very own style. I’m A Girly also promotes diversity and inclusion and the dolls feature natural proportions, varying skin tones, interchangeable wigs and over 150 accessories, allowing for the ultimate in customization.
A significant point of differentiation for I’m A Girly is that all the dolls are co-designed by the brand’s own kid design team KIDS4KIDS. The brand is also adored by many other celebrity children, such as Harper Beckham (9), Victoria and David Beckham’s daughter, and the Federer twins (11).
The music and fashion icon’s post came shortly after I’m A Girly announced its collaboration with fashion brand R Collective to create the world’s first sustainable and upcycled clothing collection for dolls. The program will use excess fabric from the fast fashion industry to draw attention to waste in both the fashion and toy industries furthering I’m A Girly’s mission is to create ‘sustainability with style.’
Under the direction of female entrepreneur, Theresia Le Battistini, I’m A Girly continues to expand worldwide. As a mom herself Le Battistini wanted to develop a line of fashionable dolls that encourage inclusion as well as creative play. Le Battistini stated, “I wanted to create products that everyone can relate to. That is why it was so important to put the kids at the core of our design process. To receive such good feedback, from the kid next door to celebrities, confirms that fashion and toys go hand in hand.”
The products of the fashion toy brand I’m A Girly launched in North America this past November and are available at Amazon.com, Target, and Indigo.
