Women in Toys, Licensing, & Entertainment (WIT) announced the appointment of six new members to its Board of Directors for 2021.
In January, four members were elected to serve their first term: Mattel EVP and chief people officer Amy Thompson; ViacomCBS SVP of retail sales and marketing Kristi Wasmer; Toy’n Around senior sales executive Michelle Weber; and Warner Bros. director of PR Shawn Smith.
Two more candidates were elected in August 2021 to serve their first term — Jazwares director of marketing Angelina Castro and 9Story Media Group’s co-VP of consumer products and vice president of distribution, Kristin Lecour.
“Our 2021 WIT Board appointments are now complete. These powerful leaders each bring a unique set of skills and talents that will drive our mission forward,” said WIT president Janice Ross. “The work we do at WIT to advance women in toys, licensing and entertainment has never been more important than in today’s volatile business environment, where we’re losing women in the workplace due to fallout from the pandemic. We’re thrilled for the leadership these women bring to our board. Their innovative ideas, expertise, and passion for our mission and vision further strengthens the profound impact we’re having on our industry.”
Additional information about the board members and their bios can be found on the WIT website.
