Toys for Tots now accepting Cryptocurrency as a viable donation.
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, a 501©(3) organization whose mission is to send a message of hope to less fortunate children at Christmas time, and during times of crisis or natural disaster, is excited to announce that it has started accepting donations in the form of Cryptocurrency.
The following cryptocurrencies are supported:

By accepting cryptocurrencies, Toys for Tots is offering supporters with cryptocurrency portfolios the ability to support the organization in a tax efficient way. The IRS classifies cryptocurrency donations as property. This means they are not subject to capital gains tax, and are tax deductible on the donor’s tax returns.
“Each year, we reach about half of the 15 million children currently living in poverty in our great Nation,” said Ted Silvester, Vice President of Marketing and Development for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “We’re hoping to reach even more less fortunate children by accepting cryptocurrencies as a donation method.”
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation will be working with The Giving Block, leaders in equipping nonprofits with the tools and techniques to effectively fundraise with cryptocurrency.
