The non-profit organization, Unity Unlimited, Inc., and the 94-year-old Social Impact Leader, Ms. Opal Lee, are pleased to announce that the WCN Group has been appointed the official licensee for apparel, headwear, and accessories. This deal was brokered by the organization’s licensing agent FanGirl Consulting & Brand Management.

In celebration of Juneteenth with the mission of raising the awareness of Ms. Opal Lee’s incredible commitment to bringing awareness to Juneteenth and to support the cause of unity and harmony within all communities across the country, the “Freedom Collection” features fresh designs, as well as Ms. Opal Lee’s likeness and inspirational quotes. The collection is targeted for retail outlets in time to celebrate the first anniversary of the Congressional bill designating Juneteenth as a national holiday.

“As the nation comes together to celebrate the first anniversary of Juneteenth as a national holiday, we are proud to partner with the team at WCN on this collection that shares Ms. Opal Lee’s message of hope and unity,” says Dione Sims, Founder of Unity Unlimited, Inc. “We worked closely with WCN to create an inclusive line of apparel and accessories that celebrates the spirit of Juneteenth that everyone can wear.”

“WCN is excited and honored to be partnered with Ms. Opal Lee and Unity Unlimited, Inc. with the launch of our merchandise collection celebrating Ms. Opal Lee and Juneteenth becoming a US national holiday. WCN’s collection of apparel and accessory merchandise will be available at retail beginning May 2022, says John Raisin, senior vice president, WCN Group.

Juneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day and celebrated on June 19th, is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. The day of commemoration marks the declaration of General Order No.3 which enforced Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, almost two and a half years after the official proclamation was made.
