K.I.T.T., the legendary wonder car from the 80s hit series Knight Rider, joins the Playmobil Cars range! A sleek black sports car speeds towards the camera, the iconic theme tune plays and the voiceover begins: “Knight Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.” Since 1982 this legendary intro has been giving goosebumps, not just to fans of the series.
Throughout 90 episodes and four seasons, a detective – thought to be dead, now under a new identity – fights crime with the help of K.I.T.T., pushed by the desire for justice. The secret hero and fan favorite of the series, the futuristic vehicle K.I.T.T. is equipped with artificial intelligence and voice output, lots of high-tech functions and enough weapons to put a stop to any villain.
Just like his big brother, the Playmobil Knight Rider K.I.T.T. features a whole range of authentic functions such as a printer underneath the dashboard for creating mug shots, a rotating license plate, a cord with grappling hook, pop-up headlights and a detachable roof. K.I.T.T. is equipped with electronic sounds and lights operated by touch-feature on the hood. The vehicle quotes lines from the series in the original iconic K.I.T.T. voice. At the same time the iconic scanner light on the front of the vehicle lights up and the dashboard light flickers. In addition to title character Michael Knight, the playset also includes highly detailed accessories such as Bonnie Barstow’s computer lab and Devon Miles’ office furniture.
Nothing stands in the way of Michael Knight’s next mission and with a “Right Away, Michael!” K.I.T.T. dashes off.
