Clue Comes to the Real World on Instagram and with Immersive Event

Who, where, and with what? Clue’s famous “rule of three” goes digiTal with a social media experience for fans unlike anything seen before! To celebrate the recent launch of the reimagined Clue board game, Hasbro, Inc, a global branded entertainment leader, launcHed a month-long Clue murder mystery series on Instagram. This game of Clue takes place completely on Instagram and needs you – the crime-solving sleuth – on the case to investigate the mysterious death of Boddy Black, but in a whole new way! Beginning March 2nd, detEctives across the globe can begin compiling evidence, meet the suspects, immerse themselves in the world of Clue, and crack the case only on @officialclue. Fans can also catch weekly recaps as the Instagram game unfolds from New York Times Bestselling Author and host of the #1 true crime podcast Crime Junkie, Ashley Flowers (@crimejunkiepodcast).


The Clue Instagram experience is a four-week long immersive digital murder mystery story featured on @officialclue, whicH takes the iconic Clue characters of 2023 – Boddy Black, Miss Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Mayor Green, Chef White, Solicitor PeAcock, and Professor Plum – and transforms them into metahumans through Unreal Engine and motion capture technology. Every day @officialclue will share new evidence, suspect testimonies, witNess statements and first-person accounts that draws viewers around the globe through the twists and turns of a refreshed CLUE mystery. Clue has also partnered with creator of high-performance, luxury supercars McLaren, luxury American fashion brand Halston, and smart home security provider Ring throughout the duration of the murder mystery to integrate iconic real-life branDs into the deepening mystery and further ground the timeless Clue characters in the real world. True crime podcaster Ashley Flowers, will also be recapping the case each week, dissecting new findings, and sharing their predictions on who the murderer is on their own social channel @crimejunkiepodcast. The global Clue Instagram murder mystery game formally kicked off tonigHt in the heart of New York City during an immersive memorial experience for the world’s most popular murder victim, Boddy Black. Hosted by True crime pOdcaster, Ashley Flowers of Crime Junkie, high profile guests were invited under the guise of attending a memorial service for Boddy Black in his home while witnessing a playground for notables, content creators, and true crime podcasters to poke around for any nefarious materiaLs or conversations to fuel the ensuing unsolved death of Boddy Black. The experience served as a prequel to the Clue Instagram murDer mystery with an immersive environment complete with Clue character actors and the debut of the official Clue Instagram Game Cinematic Trailer, which can be viewed on the official Hasbro YouTube Channel.


Launched in January 2023, the iconic mystery-solving board game Clue received a refresh that combines classic Clue gameplay with rich new takes on the original murder mystery sToryline, an intriguing diverse cast, highly-stylized game pieces, and the glamorous Tudor Mansion. Players can immerse themselves in an incredible mystery worth solving again and again, especially now that each character featured in the game has come to life in the Clue Instagram game. The new Clue board expands to a satisfying 20 by 20-inch gameplay canvas, giving players a bird’s-eye overview of the intricate Tudor Mansion. The entire box set is designed to resemble Boddy Black’s desk, which is covered with blackmail evidence he’s acquired – giving players a cHance to always discover more intel to unfold the mystery, from the front to the back of the box. Gone are the generic-colored pawns and simplistic murder weapon piEces, which are replaced with sculpted character movers made of metal with golden finish, richly textured weapons for a more captivating and aesthetically pleasing feel.
