NAVC HiVE Wraps Up Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE Event in Austin, TX

Legacy History Pride Paramount

The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) celebrates the success of its first NAVC HiVE event this week with the Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE in Austin, TX. Veterinary professionals from across the country were at the Palmer Events Center for this three day event designed to elevate and advance the careers of veterinary nurses and technicians. Many of the registrants and attendees were first-time participants in any event, anywhere, fulfilling the NAVC’s goal of providing accessible learning and networking opportunities to all members of the community.

“We created HiVE to provide a unique experience for event attendees not found anywhere else. The overwhelming response we heard from people throughout the event was that this provided a place for meaningful conversations and forming deep connections in an intimate environment,” said NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill. “With this feedback, we feel we have succeeded and the NAVC would like to express its deepest gratitude to everyone who supported this initiative. The attendees are what truly make an event special, and we are proud to be able to provide a space for the veterinary community to thrive and grow within their career.”

The Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE event served as a celebration and support for the largest cohort of professionals in the veterinary community. The core focus of the event was to provide a platform for veterinary nurses/technicians to share their real-life experiences and examples, with content mainly delivered by veterinary technicians themselves. This unique approach allowed attendees to gain valuable insights and learn from the best in the field.

Throughout the event, new ideas were tested, pushing the boundaries of traditional conferences. Attendees were treated to group flash mentoring sessions on the show floor, provided by MentorVet and sponsored by Chewy. Adjacent were open theaters, and audience chosen session topics delivered by veterinary professionals with the help of improv actors. A sketch artist from The Sketch Effect even brought the content to life by live drawing key messages during sessions, adding an extra layer of engagement and creativity. There was even time for wellness breaks with outdoor yoga classes and free massages from a licensed massage therapist, offering some mid-day relaxation.

Attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and sponsors all praised the event for its ability to create a space where individuals could come together and share their passion for the veterinary profession.

The NAVC HiVE team is thrilled with the success of the Vet Nurse+Tech HiVE event and looks forward to building on this momentum for future events. The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by all involved have set a high standard for the NAVC HiVE brand, and NAVC is excited to continue supporting the thriving veterinary industry.
