Toy Manufacturer TOMY Hits 100 Year Milestone

Takara TOMY 100

Starting in 1924, with the founding of Tomiyama Toy Seisakusho (the predecessor of TOMY), TOMY Company, LTD is now a global company with well-known brands for parents and children of all ages, such as Lamaze, Club Mocchi- Mocchi, ERTL, The First Years and Boon. TOMY is sharing its gratitude and promise to be a company that is loved and important to society for another 100 years.

To mark the milestone and express gratitude to their supporters, stakeholders, and customers, who have made their longevity possible, TOMY has created and released a new 100th anniversary logo. The design depicts the creation of infinite possibilities (“∞”) from “1.” The 100th anniversary presents TOMY with the perfect opportunity to connect their origin with the future, Japan with the world, and above all, people with one another. The logo also embodies their spirit of ASOBI and commitment to product quality that has existed since the company was founded, along with the desire to create infinite possibilities and a limitless future going forward.

In further celebration, TOMY will release a limited number of 100th Anniversary products representative of some of their founding IPs. These products will be limited releases starting in April and will vary by market.

“We are honored to be a part of a company that has been around for 100 years. Our industry is dynamic, and with the changing needs of our customers and supporters, TOMY has been able to adapt along with it,” said Greg Kilrea, President of TOMY International. “We look forward to continuing our mission to Make the World Smile for the next 100 years and beyond.”

When asked about the 100th anniversary, Kantaro Tomiyama, Representative Director, Chairman & CEO and Kazuhiro Kojima, Representative Director, President & COO jointly said, “We are grateful and humbled by everyone’s support and collaboration, which is entirely what made it possible for TOMY to reach this important juncture. In this age of constant change, with consumer needs ever-evolving, we have continued to create new forms of play based on those changing needs. We will continue to adapt and evolve as a company and continue to make the world smile through the concept of “ASOBI”, or “play”, while contributing to society at large.”

TOMY is looking forward to the next 100 years of bringing smiles to the world through play.
