In an expansion move, ZipString has named Chandler Wilkins to the new post of Director of Sales, it was announced by Co-Founders Austin Hillam and Stephen Fazio.
Chandler Wilkins joins the company after most recently serving in sales management positions in the software industry. Prior to that, he earned a degree in Supply Chain Management from Brigham Young University. According to Hillam, who served with Wilkins as Latter-day Saint missionaries in Brazil and, subsequently, as students together at BYU, “no one resembles the phrase – ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’ – better than Chandler, making him a perfect fit for a company on the way up.”
“Considering that we hand-made our first 4000 products in my family’s basement,” noted Hillam, “it’s been a dream come true to have reached the point where ZipString is now manufactured in China and sold internationally, and Chandler’s expertise in sales and supply chain management will play an important role in that growth.”
“In some ways, we can be considered the toy industry’s equivalent to a garage band becoming rock stars,” added Fazio, “ since our roots began in a basement.” Indeed, following ZipString’s successful debuts at the International Toy Fair and Spielwarrenmesse (where they were the favorite of Nuremberg’s Mayor!), the company is already projecting this year’s sales will be in the high 7 figures.
