Marvel Expands Agreement with Brunswick Bowling

Brunswick Bowling will develop products featuring the Marvel Heroes brand, including Marvel Heroes bowling balls, bowling pins, bowling ball bags, T-shirts, jackets, bowling shirts, shoe covers, bowling gloves, towels, and trophies. Products will be available at U.S. and Canadian bowling centers and pro shops, direct-to-consumer, catalog, and online. Additionally, Brunswick will launch Marvel Heroes Bowling Clubs at participating bowling centers, enabling recreational bowlers to join clubs where they can bowl with other Marvel Heroes fans and get exclusive access to Marvel Heroes Bowling Merchandise.

Chorion Apparel Expands Across U.S., Europe

Chorion has new apparel licensees for the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters across the United States and Europe.

In the U.S., Chorion expands with Fruit of the Loom’s FunGals brand girls’ underwear. The first phase featuring a girls’ packaged brief program is planned to roll-out in spring 2011, with new collections in development for 2012.

Mothercare launched its Mr. Men and Little Miss baby wear in the UK in June. The range will include two-pack all-in-ones and two-pack bodysuits for both boys and girls. The licensee, Crystal Martin, a preferred supplier to Mothercare, is now working on new concepts for the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand for spring/summer 2011.

Sahinler Group is producing Mr. Men and Little Miss baby wear to roll-out alongside its existing line for kids in retail outlets across France and Germany. Blues Clothing is also developing a full range of classic Mr. Men and Little Miss apparel for tweens, teens, and adults for retail in France in 2011. In Germany, TV Mania has launched its Mr. Men collection, with product expected to roll out in Ernsting’s Family department stores in summer 2011.

Brand Licensing Signs Morris Animal Foundation

Brand Licensing Team announced that it has been named the licensing agent for Morris Animal Foundation (MAF), a leading nonprofit organization that helps animals enjoy longer,healthier lives. The licensing efforts will be focused on products that align strategically to Morris Animal Foundation’s efforts within the following categories: health and safety, pet toys,plush, apparel and products for the veterinary community.

MAF is one of the world’s largest nonprofits that advances health and welfare research that protects, treats, and cures companion animals, horses, and wildlife worldwide.

Brand Team Signs Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Brand Licensing Team (in its second announcement this week) announced that it has been named the licensing agent for Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). One of the world’s oldest and largest youth service networks, Boys & Girls Clubs of America serves four million youth annually through Club membership and community outreach. The BGCA licensing program will leverage the Club’s rich assets, including celebrity alumni, Club member art, its rich 100-year legacy, and its national brand campaign, “Be Great.”

The licensing efforts will be focused on products that align strategically to BGCA’s efforts within the following categories: apparel, sports, games, crafts, back to school, publishing, and holiday.

Trump Hotel and Serta

In partnership with Serta, Trump Hotel Collection has developed a new luxury hotel mattress exclusively for Trump properties. The Trump Hotel Collection Bed was most recently unveiled at Trump Hotel Collection’s newest property, Trump SoHo New York. This exclusive mattress was also introduced earlier this year at Trump International Hotel & Tower New York as part of a recent $30 million renovation project, as well as Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk. In addition, there are plans to introduce the line in Trump Hotel Collection’s next two properties—Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower Panama and Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto, both expected to open in early 2011.

Stone America Expands with Pet Head

Stone America Licensing announced that current client Pet Head, Inc., has formed an exclusive licensing agreement with Jarden Consumer Solutions (JCS), a subsidiary of Jarden Corporation to develop a full new line of electric grooming products, pet beds, and pet carriers for dogs. The JCS line of licensed products is an extension to the wet goods grooming collection currently being sold at retail.

Candy for Fancy Nancy

Fancy Nancy and New England Confectionery Company (NECCO) have signed a deal to produce a line of candies based on the Fancy Nancy series of books. The candies, which are expected to debut for holiday 2010 and Valentine’s Day 2011, will be sold in mass market, food, drug, and convenience stores.

United Media has been working with HarperCollins Children’s Books to build a licensing program in support of Fancy Nancy. The licensing program now has more than 25 licensees with product available at mid-tier, mass, and department stores
