Mattel, Pokémon Unveil New Construction Line

Mattel has announced a new licensing deal for Mega Construx, bringing the world of Pokémon to life with an all-new micro-detailed construction line. Pokémon currently ranks as one of the most popular global entertainment brands.

The Pokémon Mega Construx line will feature sets that allow fans to construct Pokémon settings and battle among buildable, articulated figures of their favorite Pokémon. At launch, available Pokémon in the line will include Pikachu, Charizard, and more from the Kanto region, which is the setting from the original Pokémon video games and animation.

The Pokémon licensed line is the newest addition to the Mega Construx brand, Mattel’s new sub-brand of construction sets designed for kids age 4 and up. The Pokémon Mega Construx sets will be available this summer at retailers nationwide, including Toys “R” Us, Walmart, Target, and Amazon.

USAopoly Lands Global Deal for Codenames Game

USAopoly Inc. announced today an exclusive global licensing agreement for the Codenames franchise with European-based Czech Games Edition. USAopoly will design and publish licensed versions of the tabletop game as the exclusive global licensing partner for the Codenames brand.

USAopoly will also create themed versions of the game inspired by Disney, Disney/Pixar, and Marvel Codenames Disney Family Edition will feature characters and locations from Disney and Disney/Pixar films from the past 90 years. Codenames Marvel Edition will be more of a traditional party game, incorporating many fan favorites, including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s Avengers, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man.

Codenames Disney Family Edition and Codenames Marvel Edition will be available in fall 2017. Both games will be sold exclusively in North America.

Moose Toys has teamed with Illumination and Universal Brand Development to launch Mineez, an all-new line of collectibles featuring characters spanning the entire Despicable Me universe. Marking the first toy collectibles line for the franchise, Mineez, will launch in this summer to coincide with the theatrical release of Despicable Me 3.

Mineez will feature the largest selection ever of Despicable Me characters, including characters from the new film as well as hundreds of others from the previous movies and short form content, including Gru, Agnes and the Minions. The range will include many never-before-seen characters as well as micro collectible figure packs, playsets, backpack hangers, novelty collectibles, and plush.
