PhatMojo introduces a Baldi’s Basics toy line, based on the indie video game inspired by “edutainment” games of the 1990s.
With new PhatMojo toys, and newly updated game content, Baldi is heading back-to-school with a full head of steam.
Coinciding with updated game content, PhatMojo’s Baldi toys include action figures, plush and collectibles. Now available at major retailers, the line features all of the game’s main characters. It hit shelves in tandem with the new game demo, also launched this month.
The new Baldi’s Basics offers players a preview of what’s to come in the full game release, scheduled for early next year. Originally launched in March of 2018 by Basically Games, Baldi’s Basics is set in a school where players are challenged with quiz questions. Wrong answers provoke Baldi to chase players as they try to escape his wrath.
The indie horror game has sparked massive, viral YouTube engagement with hugely popular play-through videos, musical parodies and “mash-up” videos, featuring the game’s popular characters and tropes.
Of the toy line’s debut, Baldi creator, Micah McGonigal, said , “It’s awesome, and a little surreal, to have figures of these ridiculous characters I made sitting on my desk. I’m really happy with how they all came out and I’m glad that fans are excited, too.”
Chasing the retail success of the brand’s toy launch, PhatMojo will offer a first look at the Baldi’s Basics 2020 line during their fall preview, beginning next month.
