Promotions at TCG

TCG has promoted Laura Giger to vice-president and appointed Moe Merali as sales director. Giger has nearly 20 years of experience as a senior level consumer packaged goods sales executive, more than half of which have been at TCG. Prior to joining TCG, she was with Hasbro Canada and Hugh McIvor Agencies. She will oversee all account relationships in the Canadian market.

Merali joins TCG with more than 10 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods and IT sectors. Prior to joining TCG, he was with Innovation First International, Round 5, and iToys Inc.

TIA Promotes Vitale

The Toy Industry Association (TIA) promoted Paul Vitale to senior vice-president, finance and operations, effective immediately, after serving for six years as vice president, finance and administration.

Vitale’s scope of responsibilities includes oversight of the TIA’s accounting, finance, and human resources departments; management of IT services and facilities; and strategic direction of TIA’s Credit Interchange Program and market research initiatives. Vitale is staff liaison to the Audit, Investment and Market Research & Data Strategy Committees of TIA’s Board of Directors. Vitale also provides finance and operation support to the Toy Industry Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, and its Board of Trustees.

Vitale joined the TIA as vice-president, finance and administration, in November 2007. A certified public accountant and chartered global management accountant with more than 30 years experience, he has held senior financial positions in both for profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Welch’s Hires Hendricks

Welch’s announced the appointment of Glenn Hendricks in the new role of group manager of business development, licensing. At Welch’s, Glenn will use his more than 20 years of licensing experience to expand the brand through licensing, focusing on evaluating new business opportunities, handling current licensed brands such as Welch’s Fruit Snacks, and managing the company’s partnership with The Licensing Company.

Most recently, Hendricks worked with IMG Licensing as creative director of licensing, where he managed creative development for the New York office with clients including Volkswagen, Rolling Stone Magazine and STP/Armor All.

Prior to IMG Licensing, Hendricks held positions at SloaneVision Unlimited, Lisa Frank, and Sony Wonder/Sunbow Productions and OSP Publishing.
