Jazwares Hosts First SDCC Panel, Sharing the Hottest Updates on Fan-Favorite Products

Jazwares, one of the fastest-growing toy companies in the world, will host its first-ever San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) panel when the ultimate pop culture event returns this month. On Saturday, July 22, fans are encouraged to join industry icon and collectible connoisseur Jeremy Padawer as he moderates a candid conversation on all that’s hot from Jazwares in 2023 and beyond! Joined by panelists Jamie Sikorski and Casey Wood (Pokémon brand), Betsy Burkett (Squishmallows), Max Lux and David Clarke (Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron), and Greg Mitchell and Daniel Jung (AEW brand), the group will also exclusively reveal new collectibles from a number of the company’s top brands. The Jazwares Spotlight panel will take place from 12:30-1:30 pm PT in room 29CD and interested SDCC goers are invited to attend.

TOMY International and NBCUniversal Announce New Collaboration with Crowd-Funded Back to the Future Time Machine Diecast Replica

TOMY has announced a limited-edition diecast model of the original Time Machine that captured hearts and minds from the original Back to the Future movie. The Time Machine replica will be available for pre-order starting July 11th and through August 11th, 2023. The Model is authentically replicated in 1:10 scale measuring 17.40 x 7.80 x 5.48” with diecast metal parts. The interior and exterior LED lights are functional and movie-accurate, with a detailed interior and smoking rear fins. This is the first Time Machine car to be offered at this scale in diecast.

New Broadcasters for Fourth Series of Animated Hit Series ‘The Deep’

A Stark Production and WildBrain, together with Infinite Studios, have confirmed new international broadcast partners for its global animated hit series The Deep. As the exclusive global distributor for the series, WildBrain has secured new deals with Rockbot (US) for season one; Club Illico (Canada) for seasons one and two; RTE (Ireland) for seasons three and four; NRK (Norway) for seasons one, two and four; and France Télévisions for season four.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game’s 25th Anniversary Fuels New Line of Licensing Collectibles

As the immensely popular Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (TCG) commemorates its 25th Anniversary celebration, Konami Cross Media NY, Inc has signed four new agreements that will bring an array of exclusive licensed products to market in honor of the milestone, ranging from apparel, back-to-school accessories, streetwear, and metallic posters. The announcement was made by Jennifer Coleman, Vice President of Licensing and Marketing, Konami Cross Media NY. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, featuring monsters, spells, and traps, was launched by Konami in 1999 in Japan and later in North America. Through the years, it has become a top selling trading card game worldwide and been recognized as such in the past by Guinness World Records. Konami launched its Yu-Gi-Oh! Anniversary project in February 2023, with on-going planned releases of commemorative products through 2024.

The 15th Annual Kidscreen Awards Officially Accepting Entries for 2024

Early-Bird entry fees are in effect, offering savings to companies that complete their entries quickly. For all categories, the entry fee is US$400 until August 11, and US$500 after that date. Additional entry into the “Best in Class” field (Programming only) requires an extra fee of US$100. Winners will be revealed at a fun and prestigious awards ceremony during Kidscreen Summit 2024 (February 4-7, San Diego), the global kids entertainment industry’s biggest gathering of the year. Detailed information on eligibility, judging and entering can be found at awards.kidscreen.com. The deadline for entries is Friday, September 8.
