Fashion Angels announced the debut of its new shop-in-shops concept, which opened Tuesday, May 8, at the Learning Express of Brookfield, Wisc. The custom-built display highlights the brand’s product line for tweens.

“We are thrilled to have our line featured in one of our area’s great independent toy retailers,” said Fashion Angels’ CEO, Mark Miller. “The face of retail has been changing drastically in the recent months and we are excited to partner with Learning Express and support brick-and-mortar retailers with a result that will be successful for both of us.”

The Fashion Angels Shop at the Learning Express in Brookfield Square Mall features the company’s popular Magic Sequin Collection of backpacks, zip pouches, pillows, and more. There is also a selection of the company’s craft kits, sketch portfolios, must-have party favors, room décor, and bath and beauty lines. A craft station offers in-store demos of feature products as well as a beauty bar where customers can sample the Fashion Angels beauty line.

Fashion Angels hopes to expand its store-within-a store concept to additional specialty retailers this fall.

LIMA, The NPD Group Team for Executive Breakfast Series

The International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association (LIMA) and The NPD Group announced a quarterly Executive Breakfast Series created especially for senior brand licensing executives. The series will pair The NPD Group’s thought leadership in more than 20 industries with LIMA’s brand licensing expertise and advocacy to initiate discussions grounded in real data and market intelligence.

“LIMA’s mission is to drive the growth and expansion of licensing around the world, which starts with top notch educational and professional development opportunities for our licensing community and the business world at large,” says Maura Regan, LIMA executive vice-president. “We are proud to launch this engaging Executive Breakfast Series with The NPD Group and are confident it will provide keen insights and learnings to senior executives across a multitude of industries, while elevating licensing as a smart and profitable business strategy.”

The Executive Breakfast Series kicks off Tuesday, June 12 at Steelcase in New York City. The topic will be The Megapower of Kid Fans: how today’s digital-savvy kids are upending the traditional model of content, and what it means for your licensing business. NPD Entertainment’s Kristen McLean will explore how children are upending the traditional models of content distribution and discovery and share data from across the children’s industry on how licenses and brands are measuring up.

“Today’s digitally-sophisticated kids are an increasingly powerful force that does not always behave in ways that are easy to anticipate. Their passion drives all kinds of new patterns of discovery, and when they get behind things, it can really move the consumer needle,” says McLean.
