Funko, Inc, in partnership with ‘90s retail giant Blockbuster, announced the debut of its retro entertainment product line, Rewind, focused on delivering nostalgia directly to consumers through collectibles and packaging fashioned around the iconic Blockbuster design. Each newly designed collectible figure comes encased in VHS-type packaging unique to each IP, reminiscent of a time before Y2K when VHS reigned supreme. Giving fans the opportunity to relive the cherished memory of renting a movie on a Friday night with family and friends, each figure will also come with a membership card designed to mirror Blockbuster’s memorable design.
“With the resurgence of ‘80s and ‘90s trends, Funko is bringing the best pop culture film moments home with Rewind, helping fans connect over shared memories, while simultaneously complementing the product options from our most sought-after product line,” said CEO Brian Mariotti.
Rewind figures will differ from the typical Funko aesthetic, allowing the brand to innovate in a new way while simultaneously celebrating the nostalgia and overall creativity of the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s. Funko offers consumers the opportunity to relive their childhood as original Blockbuster customers and share that one-of-a-kind experience with friends, family and kids for the first time through the new Rewind line.

Rewind stands as the latest addition to Funko’s extensive range of collectible products, offering fans yet another innovative way to connect with their favorite fandoms. Funko’s ever-growing roster of innovative products includes beloved staples such as GOLD and Soda, the recently released Bitty Pop! line as well as the upcoming Funko Fusion video game coming in 2024.
Fans will be able to experience Funko’s throwback to the era of VHS at Funko’s Fun on the Run cross-country event (July 7-July 19). Funko is celebrating our 25th anniversary and bringing the fun to middle America with our cross-country road trip and activation, Fun on the Run, taking place between July 7-July 19. Funko will have a branded bus traveling to 10 different locations (starting in Nashville and ending in San Diego for San Diego Comic-Con) where we will be selling exclusive Fun on the Run products (Boxes of Fun) for fans at and on Funko.com.
