Arcade1Up Announces Global Distribution Strategy to Support Growing Business

Arcade1Up distribution

Arcade1Up has announced a new distribution strategy to support its growth and international business operations in Canada, Australia and European countries. The partnerships with Polyphoto and other local distributors will be driven by Arcade1Up’s premier Deluxe line – a streamlined design that echoes the look of the classic arcade machine, created for the home, while incorporating modern features and technology.

In conjunction with the new distribution strategy, Arcade1Up announced four new home arcade machines led by TIME CRISIS Deluxe Arcade Machine – the first at-home arcade experience for the popular shooter arcade game. Additional new titles are Atari 50th Anniversary Deluxe Arcade Machine, GALAGA Deluxe Arcade Machine, and Street Fighter™ II: CE HS-5 Deluxe Arcade Machine – all will be on display in the Polyphoto booth at Gamescom this week (Business Area, Hall 2.2, Booth D-025) and are set for global release later this year.

“This is an exciting time for us. From our humble beginnings just five years ago to announcing we’re going global today – we couldn’t be more thrilled,” said Cyrus Rosenberg, Senior Licensing Manager for Arcade1Up. “Our new flagship ‘Deluxe’ design has been embraced by core gamers and families alike and we’re looking forward to expanding the line with several new releases in the back half of the year including a new franchise for us – TIME CRISIS.”

“We are happy to extend our relationship with Arcade1Up to get the new line of Deluxe arcade machines in the hands of consumers in Europe and beyond just in time for holiday,” said Umberto Pirera, CEO, Polyphoto S.p.A. “There is incredible passion for franchises like TIME CRISIS and Street Fighter and we know that fans will be excited for these authentic arcade experiences.”

TIME CRISIS Deluxe arcade machine marks the first at-home arcade experience for the series from Bandai Namco Entertainment, Inc. that innovated the shooter arcade category when it debuted in 1995. Players battle against Wild Dog and other notorious boss characters in four classic arcade games packaged in Arcade1Up’s Deluxe arcade machine format. The new home arcade machine will be available in October.

The Atari 50th Anniversary Deluxe arcade machine celebrates the magic of Atari with (14) Atari Classics and (50) Atari 2600 games, the largest selection of game titles to be released on an Arcade1Up Deluxe machine yet and includes classic games such as AsteroidsCentipede, and Missile Command. Players will be able to take control of their spaceship and engage in intense battles against swarms of alien invaders with the GALAGA Deluxe home arcade machine from Bandai Namco. And the Street Fighter II: CE HS-5 Deluxe arcade machine features 14 blockbuster Capcom games packaged in an authentic design inspired by the iconic Dynamo HS-5 shape.
