PBS to Launch New Educational Products

PBS KIDS and the Carson-Dellosa Publishing Group announced a multi-year licensing partnership that will create a wide range of PBS KIDS educational products. Products will include a new series of affordable books, workbooks, educational cards, learning kits, and more, expected to launch in 2018.

PBS KIDS’ new products will support the brand’s commitment to delivering innovative educational learning experiences for children. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from the sale of the books and workbooks will support PBS KIDS’ mission to help all children, especially those at risk.

The new licensing partnership will kick off with the debut of a collection of PBS KIDS Stick with It! and My Take-Along Tablet books. For ages 4 and up, the product lines will launch at major retailers in April 2018.

True and the Rainbow Kingdom Names Toy State Master Toy Partner

Guru Studio has named Toy State as its master toy licensee for the new Netflix Original preschool animated series, True and the Rainbow Kingdom, which premiered globally on Netflix on August 11. The deal was brokered by Guru’s licensing agency, Brand Central.

Toy State will help bring to life the new Netflix series through a robust product line featuring figures, roleplay, plush, playsets and dolls, marking a major expansion into new product categories as part of the company’s overall global growth strategy.

True and the Rainbow Kingdom is a Netflix Original preschool series produced by Guru Studio in collaboration with Pharrell Williams’ i Am Other, the art collective FriendsWithYou, and Home Plate Entertainment. The second season is already underway and will launch early 2018. The series follows 8-year-old True, and her best friend Bartleby the cat, as they come to the rescue of Rainbow City’s whimsical citizens.

Toy State will give an exclusive preview of the lineup inspired by the show to attendees of the Fall Toy Preview this October in Dallas. The first wave of products is set to hit shelves in fall 2018.

Beyblade Gets New Distribution Partner in New Zealand

SunRights, the New York City-based entertainment rights management company, has licensed the first season of its new animated series Beyblade Burst to New Zealand’s TVNZ. Per the agreement, brokered by SunRights’s Australian/New Zealand agent The Fusion Agency, Beyblade Burst is airing on the network weekdays at 7:30 a.m.

The new Beyblade Burst animated series, created by d-rights inc. and produced by OLM, introduces viewers to Valt Aoi, who is crazy about Beyblade. Valt’s best friend since childhood, Shu Kurenai, is hailed as a Beyblade prodigy and has already been named as one of the National Beyblade Tournament’s Supreme Four. Inspired by Shu’s accomplishments, Valt sets his sights on reaching this year’s National Tournament. But to get to the big leagues, he must first emerge victorious from the District Tournament – no easy feat, given the tough opponents standing in his way. Determined to win, Valt aims to make it to the championship, where he hopes to battle Shu and move on to the National Tournament. As he battles, Valt broadens his circle of friends and reaches new heights. Without even realizing it, he has begun to dream of becoming the best Blader in the world.
