I first met Peter at an ASTRA Marketplace & Academy in 2015. Later that year, he traveled from his homebase in Switzerland to our November Inventor Pitch and Conference events. Since that time, we’ve met up at our events and others around the world. Peter clearly loves our industry and always has a big smile when you see him. I was excited to find out he was the second of three generations in our industry – and they were all within and passionate about the game industry. After the successful international launch of the Chupa Chups sparkling soda, which has twice been granted the Superior Taste Award by Belgium’s International Taste Institute, Perfetti Van Melle now brings a new and surprising licensing novelty soft drink to the market with its leading mint brand Mentos. The product is a non-sparkling drink with low sugar that contains jelly bites. Its packaging is an attractive slim 240 ml can format. The drinks range consists of three flavor variants inspired by popular Mentos flavors: lemon and mint, apple soda kick and fruity mix.

The Joester Loria Group and Penguin Ventures Team Up on the World of Eric Carle

The Joester Loria Group, the worldwide licensing agency for the World of Eric Carle, has appointed Penguin Ventures, the licensing and consumer products team at Penguin Random House Children’s UK, as its local sub-agent in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Eire. Penguin Ventures will manage the World of Eric Carle including Carle’s timeless publishing classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, with immediate effect. “We are excited to work with Penguin Ventures to extend the World of Eric Carle licensing, building on the success delivered by Rocket in experiential, consumables, apparel, toys and more,” said Jackie DeMaio, Senior Licensing Director at JLG. “Penguin Ventures brings terrific experience in managing classic literary properties and will ensure an even closer alignment with Penguin Random House Children’s UK on initiatives including new titles and marketing campaigns. Tara Duncan Launches in Multiple territories Across America

Princess Sam Entertainment Group has announced that its hit kids’ adventure-comedy-fantasy Tara Duncan has been sold to major broadcasters across North and Latin America, with a number of launches under way or imminent. Tara Duncan is available now in French on Canada’s Télé Quebec and will arrive in English in Canada on Family Channel through WildBrain, a global leader in kids’ and family entertainment, from 7 July; Brazil’s biggest media conglomerate, Grupo Globo, will launch the show on Gloob, its kids’ pay tv network, on 12 October; and pay TV Disney Channel plans to broadcast Tara Duncan across Latin America.
