License Global has reveals its highly anticipated annual study, The Top Global Licensors report. This year’s report totaled $273.4 billion in retail sales of licensed consumer products in 2022, with over 40 brands in the report seeing collective growth of more than $26 billion. The annual Top Global Licensors report collects global retail sales of licensed consumer products and experiences from the biggest global brands spanning sectors such as entertainment, sports, gaming, toys, corporate brands, fashion and apparel, among several other categories.

Stan Lee Digital Collectibles from Kartoon Studios Sell Out Almost Instantly

Kartoon Studios , through its controlling interest in Stan Lee Universe, LLC, has announced a total and near-instantaneous sell through of Stan Lee digital collectibles through its partnership with digital leader VeVe, on July 18. The total drop, of over 8,000 digital collectibles opened at 8am PST, and was sold out almost immediately. This news comes on the heels of a successful opening of the Stan Lee Exhibit at The Comic-Con Museum in San Diego, California. The Celebrating Stan Lee collection, joins Star Wars, Marvel and Disney amongst their elite collection of digital collectibles. Celebrating Stan Lee features four digital collectibles for fans in Chibi style, which is a popular style of caricature originating in Japan and common in anime and manga where characters are drawn in an exaggerated way, typically small and chubby with stubby limbs, oversized heads, and minimal detail.

Mattel Renews Licensing Partnership with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products

Mattel, Inc announced that it has renewed its licensing agreement with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products. Mattel will continue as a Warner Bros.’ toy licensee for the preschool, plush, dolls, vehicles, games, and novelty toy categories, developing and marketing products for more than 50 Warner Bros Discovery brands and franchises including DC Universe, DC Super Friends, “Batwheels,” Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Friends, Seinfeld, and Ted Lasso, among others. “Mattel is incredibly proud of our two-decade long partnership with Warner Bros. to create products for fans featuring their favorite Warner Bros. characters and storylines,” said Nick Karamanos, Senior Vice President of Entertainment Partnerships at Mattel. “We are thrilled that Mattel is a partner of choice for the largest and most successful entertainment companies in the world, and are excited to continue our partnership with Warner Bros. Zoomers to Boomers will be in awe of the cuddly and adorable plush, blankets, teethers and activity toys including My First Comic Book ($15) with a removable Batman and The Joker, peek-a-boo flaps and tactile ribbons.  Kids Preferred creates products for the crib and nursery with many products priced affordably at $10 and under. The caped crusaders and beloved wizards are transformed into items like soft blankies adorned with Hogwarts crests or adorable plush and even a jack-in-the-box that pops up when you least expect it with Batman. Kids can cuddle with 15” Harley Quinn plush or swaddle the red cape of 10” Superman. Kids Preferred adds little details like Superman’s black lock of hair over his forehead or Harry’s barely-there lightning bolt scar.
